Woo already thought he was mixing fact and fiction when he was telling Nick and Hank about the urban legend his grandmother told him as a child. That was also when Nick was considering telling Woo the truth but once Woo played iylt off as not real Nick decided to let him believe it wasn't real. At the end of the day it is not Hank's secret to tell so all he can do is give his option on the subject and as you pointed out you never know how someone will react to the truth. Rosalie and Monroe had already stated that an Aswung was a bad starter wesen for someone not in the know to see and they couldn't have known that Woo would be staking out Dana's house off duty.
