I love Skillz and Bevin and Whitey cockblocking Keith and Karen in this episode makes me laugh. Also keep in mind as much as she's talented, fashion as a career is still kind of a new idea to Brooke - she started Clothes for bros on a whim earlier this season to have something to focus on. It's not necessarily her passion on the level of Nathan's basketball dreams or Peyton's art. And her first real exposure to the fashion world included fakeness, drugs, and pervy old guys. A lot of people would run away from that scene especially at 17. That was her first experience in that world and it's scary As much as the money/opportunity are good the fashion world is known to be unkind and it probably felt a little Alice in Wonderland-y.

2023-02-26 23:52:09 +0000 UTCYeah, I think it is not as simple as Brooke choosing "cheerleading" over a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It was Brooke choosing herself. She was thrown into this crazy, messed-up environment that she was NOT ready for, and it made her very very unhappy and unsafe. I think it is actually a more mature choice to realize that she actually doesn't want that lifestyle, at least not at this very point in her life. She wants to be in a place where she feels supported, loved and valued. She has that with her friends and her boyfriend. It may not be perfect, but that's her family. Choosing your family is honestly the right choice for her. The ending scene is also so much fun, it's kind of why I liked Dare Night so much last season. Kids being kids will always be very much appreciated from me in a teen drama, especially when they're all dealing with very adult things. And trust me, we'll be holding on to moments like these as the show moves forward.

2022-06-18 14:02:59 +0000 UTCI agree with Brooke's decision. It's a hard choice but she's, what, 17/18 years old? Being in the fashion industry can be kind of toxic and dangerous. Good on her for recognizing that she's not mature enough or ready enough for that. And, yeah, cheerleading and being with her friends IS something she should prioritize too. These are memories she's gonna regret not having. Brooke is talented and she's a go getter. I think she'll be okay finding her way as a designer one day but now is not that time. She should focus on her senior year of high school. Her friends are her family so I'm glad she's making memories with them cuz soon they'll all be going their separate ways for college or wherever.

That is not the environment Brooke should have put herself in at this age. You can't fault her for choosing to remain a kid when she saw first hand what it did to Solaris. Brooke is not ready for that yet.

I never get why reactors and society in general think that Brooke is giving up a “once in a lifetime opportunity” and are in such a rush “to make it” Brooke not only wanted to enjoy her last years of being a kid and having very few responsibilities but also clearly wasn’t ready for that life and everything that life would entail. She was protecting herself. This is a prime example of my Brooke is one of my favorite characters. She is not that enamored with the glitz and glory of things but can see when things can cause her harm and avoids them and doesn’t care what people will say. I thought it showed a lot of maturity.

She's only 17. I'd say she's at the start of her possibilities. Makes sense she wants to enjoy her last year of school.
