Besides the fact that Regina chose another family's child over her own, and then lying about, she might have done a good job raising Daphne, but to act like Bay does not have a right to be severely hurt that her own birth mother fought harder to keep a child she didn't give birth too over the one she did give birth too. And to act like the Kenishes didn't have a right to feel hurt and angry by the fact that they didn't get to have their biological daughter in their lives. Regina made a decision that impacted all of them just for herself! Not to mention the comment about ignoring Regina just made me laugh, because forgetting that she chose someone else over her actual daughter earlier, since they have all been together, Regina has still never really given Bay any time, she treats Bay like she has nothing to do with her. Regina was in the wrong when they were babies, and is still in the wrong now.

2022-07-05 18:11:05 +0000 UTCThe main problem I have with Regina's reasoning for keeping the switch a secret is this weird possession that she feels over Daphne. I think a lot of parents have that problem, and it all comes down to ego. I agree with Esmeralda that it was selfish. Obviously, she loved Daphne and wanted to keep her, and was afraid that she would be taken away from her, and she is a good parent, but she always has a chip on her shoulder and something to prove. It's always turned me off about her parenting style with repeating "she was mine" Then Bay wasn't? Like where is this concept of ownership coming from? Raising a child doesn't make them your property. They're under your supervision and your guidance, but a whole person's existence and being does NOT belong to you.

They should be able to have time to heal. There's a lot of changes lately for them and so this just added fuel to the fire.

2022-06-16 11:40:29 +0000 UTCMaybe go back and watch the first episode. Bay feeling like she doesn’t belong is there from the beginning, and is part of why she acts out. Yes she can come off ungrateful but just because her parents provide material possessions doesn’t mean she was happy. They show her struggling with how she doesn’t look like her parents and how she doesn’t have a lot of the same beliefs and interests as them, and how they struggle to connect with each other before they even know about the switch. Yes, Daphne and Bay are old enough to understand where Regina is coming from but of course they’re gonna be hurt. They’re still teenagers so it’s completely understandable that they would be angry for a while. While I do understand where Regina is coming from, she was wrong for doing what she did and I think it was selfish.
