IMO the fear of Clarke is superstitious and thus isn't meant to really make sense to us. They don't fear her because she is some sort of badass, but because they have a superstitious belief that death follows her and that because she is responsible for so many deaths killing her will somehow give the killer some sort of power. In other words the fear/respect is about what she represents and not her specifically. It's not like her own people see her any differently, only the superstitious grounders do.

2022-06-17 16:33:52 +0000 UTCI really didn't like idea of Lexa making Skaikru the 13th Clan after she betrayed them the way she did but I understand why Clarke went through with it to save her people. They just wanted to show Clarke aka Wanheda, Commander of Death bowing down to the Commander as a show of, ohh look at the legendary Wanheada bowing to the Commander. God Echo! I hate her with a passion especially because of her tricking and betraying Bellamy which leads to Gina dying and there goes my boys happiness. Honestly I don't blame Bellamy for being pissed, he just learned his girlfriends dead and now he's spitting facts to Clarke about Lexa betraying them, that her loyalty will always be to her people. She should come back home to him and her people because he wants the woman he cares very much about to come home and be safe but no.. she says I'm sorry. Yes, that is indeed Emerson, the last Moutain Man and that's how the grounder had the launch codes and knew where the panel in the desk was.
