I love this episode. It has some much needed fun and levity and a lot that made me laugh like the stuff about "Brooking yourself" and Skillz and Bevin who I love. They've been through a lot lately and to just be kids is needed. That said, I know a lot of them don't have parental figures around, but why are Bevin and Skillz parents letting them stay for a weekend in a cabin with their bf/gf unsupervised?? I do agree it was weird to have that one scene with Karen and Dan shoved in there even though it was a good scene.

The Karen/Dan scene did seem a little oddly placed, but Idc it was a great scene. "What about your responsibility as a father?" Good stuff. Naley is great this season. I love that Nathan said he wouldn't take back what happened between them in season 2. I agree with him. The stuff that happened taught them so much and made them so much stronger. They were able to conquer something most adults can't. Love that it wasn't just contrived drama, but had a purpose and made them grow. The vowel renewal/real wedding with their friends and family is so appropriate in marking this new phase of their relationship.

2022-07-16 03:53:01 +0000 UTCI never noticed it with Skills cuz honestly I grew up in an Asian country so how would I have known how Americans speak? I get it all from TV lol. But yeah, I'm older now and it IS kinda cringe but I'll tolerate it for more Skills cuz he brings a lot of comedy and a lot of heart, too. I really do love Rachel and Mouth's friendship. It's really sweet and Rachel clearly needs a friend like him in her life. She has NO ONE else to talk to so it makes sense that she got depressed over what happened, especially once Mouth got mad at her. I LOVE the Naley stuff. It's so sweet and I'm ecstatic that they came out of season 2 a whole lot stronger. This was kinda a filler episode but it's a good one cuz of Rachel/Mouth and Naley, like you said. That scene with Karen and Dan was VERY intense. God, the thought that Keith's loved ones are just unaware of what really happened is so chilling.

2022-07-14 04:42:21 +0000 UTCThe Karen and Dan scene is one of those scenes from this show that has always stayed with me. So emotional and powerful. And when she says "you killed him. You may not have pulled the trigger"...my heart dropped so much for her not knowing it really was him.

2022-07-13 10:57:05 +0000 UTCI agree this episode had a weird structure, but I think they just wanted to create an episode that felt more lighthearted after the dark last few episodes, but the scene with Kare and Dan was supposed to show that we're clearly not moving on from Keith's death any time soon. As for Pete Wentz: this story actually has a point (even though it was weird that he was basically fun-dating Peyton), you'll see in the next few episodes ;)

2022-07-13 09:24:12 +0000 UTCYeah, the downside of Skills being in a lot more scenes (which I'm a huge fan of, and have been asking for). It does come with a price. I still have to remember that his dialogue is being written by a largely white room of dudes who think this is what all black guys sound like. His dialogue can be so cringe at times b/c it's so stereotypical.

2022-07-13 02:47:24 +0000 UTCThe Pete Wentz stuff is super weird and cringy. It brings down an otherwise excellent episode. I have no idea why the writers decided to go with this storyline at all. Having a rockstar date a high school girl is also strange. But I don't think getting that scene with Karen and Dan was a weird choice. We had a moment of her pain in the beginning of the episode and she's been on Lucas' mind this entire time. I think seeing that small moment made sense, at least in my head. She's pissed off and in a lot of pain and taking it out on Dan is the only thing she knows how to do at this moment. And honestly, even if he didn't kill Keith, Dan deserves it.
