Do You Still Want Doctor Who?
Added 2022-07-12 18:46:00 +0000 UTCSo I have been noticing that the number of views for Doctor Who have been extremely low for the last two seasons. It is why the show has been more inconsistent.
So I wanted to ask you a question about further Doctor Who Reactions.
I know we have past the seasons that everyone loves and these later ones are not ones people want to see as much so below is a poll with options.

Maybe start with the new specials from 2023 and the new Doctor afterwards. The old showrunner is back.

2023-11-27 16:09:23 +0000 UTCclassic is too long winded. they padded the crap out of those stories to be able to stretch out the viewing content as much as possible. the run time could lend itself well to amazing stories but very few of them are actually good enough to warrant the extra time given. look at gunslingers as an example. if we cut that damn recap singing every scene change the story would be 2 episodes long

2022-08-02 23:22:36 +0000 UTCno disrespect but i think this would be an awful idea. you can see how few people on his patreon seem to even care about modern who. i dunno if he would enjoy classic who its so low budget and he hates dalek and cybermen stories and thats like half of classic who. in case you didnt notice how every time its a cyberman episode his head is buried in his phone for 20+ minutes of the episodes

Twice upon a time is a fun xmas episode to end Capaldis era you were so close to finishing might as well have at least gotten through to a better stopping point. Though of all your reactions you seem the least interested in that. You also have to keep in mind the majority of the people voting against who on this poll are people who are here more for all the teenager drama shows and had no interest in any doctor who at all so they just want you to quit who to focus more on the teenage garbage that makes me not stick around. I just come back every few months to quickly binge few the few shows you do that I actually like. Cant blame you for going with what the people want though since it keeps a good consistent pledge count apparently.

The original series could be fun to watch, especially now that many classic stories are being and has been animated. It could also be a good time to finish off The Expanse or start some british sitcoms like Coupling, Not Going Out or Blackadder, some that could be almost considered limited short series.

I have seen both old Doctor Who and New Doctor who, and some of my favorite episodes came from the black and white era. I also found the Daleks and the Cybermen to be creepier in black and white then in color.

But because I love everything before that, I would still enjoy seeing a new reaction to the show. Anyway. Not the end of the world if it doesn’t happen. I’d just be a bit disappointed.

I know it's a replacement for Buffy but maybe without Dr Who, you could either start now or double up on Buffy/Angel reactions so we could finish those faster and get to Charmed sooner. Or, alternatively, another British banger like Broadchurch or Sherlock BBC. Excited to see what your decision is, Steven! 💜

I also haven’t been watching the recent reactions, but that’s because you have now surpassed where I stopped watching and I wanted to catch up first and then go back and watch your reactions. Honestly, doctor who is the whole reason I first started watching you and I’ll be honest that I’ll be really sad and disappointed if the show gets cut completely. In my opinion Capaldi is a great actor and a good doctor but the writing wasn’t the best for him!! Doctor who was one one the first reasons I subscribed Can you at least finish this season? Then maybe Brian can take it over it. Or he can just start 13 since it’s different from the other seasons. I will try and comment every episode. Lol but as I said I don’t want there to be an obligation to do it, but I would be appreciative if you finish the last few episodes of this season!

2022-07-12 23:21:41 +0000 UTCI'm fine with you no longer continuing Doctor Who reactions if your not interested but it would be great if you could finish the rest of the season which ends Peter Capaldi's run as the Doctor and Steven Moffat's run as the showrunner. There's only 4 episodes and a special left, it would be great if you could finish that at whatever pace you feel like. I actually thought the ending of the season and the special were pretty great.

Your not miles off being caught up at this point anyway but I'd be lying to say I'm watching every single full length this late into your Who journey so if it was fortnightly I wouldn't be against. I don't want to be too spoilery, but I know you guys watch trailers sometimes so it's not that big a deal to say Steven should watch the grown-up, completely out of universe Doctor Who cast remix that is Broadchurch and see if that reignites his interest in continuing the later seasons and if it does pick it up again, if it doesn't, c'est la vie. I say this only because my interest in Doctor Who came from watching so many actors associated with Doctor Who in other things, Broadchurch in particular. I love all your reactions and watch many, but no Steven, I'm never going to shut up about it. lol.

2022-07-12 18:58:31 +0000 UTCProblem is, Fringe isn't going to do better than Doctor Who in terms of views (Doctor Who is an internationally famous show) and he'll eventually replace that too unless he happens to like the show himself and wants to keep it up. And this is coming from someone who doesn't like Doctor Who, but am not blind to it's immense popularity. This is why gaps happened with The Office, White Collar, etc. Cause those do poor views compared to all the Disney channel stuff.

I've been pushing for Fringe for over a year now (ever since Steven finished POI and everyone from there saw it as the next show after POI) maybe Steven will finally have time to see it!! One can only hope. At the very least, without Dr. Who there'll be one less burden for you guys. Cheers!
