2022-07-24 01:15:29 +0000 UTCPersonally I like Martha as State Senator. They've hinted in previous episodes that Martha gave up a promising career for her marriage. I think it would have been a waste for her just be running the farm. She's been shown to be smart and capable but was always been overshadowed by Jonathan as a parental figure to Clark. She seems more in her element, now that she has a job.

She doesn't feel like she fit into the stereotype of a cheerleader, there was always a separation there between her and the other girls. She had her aunt but she up and left. She basically had her friends, the talon, and her boyfriends. And we saw with Jason how Lana threw herself into her boyfriends world. Chloe's also busy now too, Lex and her have some weird dynamic going on, and she doesn't really have a surrogate parental figure in her life like Lois and Chloe have with the kents . I think the breakup set the stage well for Lana finally being all alone and her doing something rash because she wanted to see the people who no matter what, will always love her.
