The David-Patrick story was the one that really worked for me (as usual). As Patrick said, when he moved to Schitt's Creek he didn't have much of a job lined up (just part-time for Ray) so he took a cheap room in Ray's house -- essentially a guest bedroom, with no lock and without its own bathroom. David and Patrick have outgrown that, but Patrick is still thinking practically: he can't blow the bank on a new place, considering how marginal their profits likely are. And the resolution, with them realizing that they can both see themselves living together in the not too distant future, was really sweet.
