I def love season 7, or what i remember from it, lotta cool new storylines and great acting moments from many of the cast. Heretics are very strong but they also have a vulnerability of dying by their hearts being torn out of them. In that moment bonnie was sort of the bait and distracted the heretic long/good enough for damon to swoop in for the kill

2022-07-23 04:22:32 +0000 UTCHeretics are vampires and seiphenors at the same time. So anything that can kill a witch or a vampire can kill them too - like ripping their heart out. What makes them more dangerous than a "normal vampire" is that they have witch powers to protect themselves. Malcolm just was so focused on Bonnie, he didn't see Damon coming otherwise it would not have been so easy.

Both Vampires and witches are able to be killed by having their hearts ripped out so of course heretocs can be killed that way. They're not some super invulnerable creatures like the originals. They can be killed the same way a vampire can.
