I don't disagree with the concept of how they handled Riley/Danny - I think the notion that she had to date Ben in order to get over the "fantasy" of Ben that she'd had since they were kids was probably the right call. That was a relic of their childhood that the girl desperately needed to move past, before she could seriously entertain the notion of someone else or recognize any other feelings she was having. But the execution of it, especially in this episode, left a lot of to be desired, imo. I agree they're doing Riley no favors with how they're portraying her behavior here.
