Thank you so much for continuing ! I'm glad you enjoyed this one. I think the appeal of Jordan Catalano is just that he's so dreamy with those long eyelashes and shiny hair :-) Fun little bit of trivia - the girl who plays Connie in the flashbacks is Mercedes McNab (Harmony from Buffy).

2022-08-03 21:22:59 +0000 UTCSo weird you posted this. I literally just watched a video today about the show Daria that referenced this show for comparison several times. I'm not surprised this hasn't gotten the views. Your fanbase definitely seems to have a pretty young and female skew. I'd be curious if any of them ever started watching these because it might actually appeal to them being such a relatable drama centered on a young woman. And they have to learn their Euphoria references. lol. Jordan Catalano references are everywhere once you know the name. I think the "thing" about Jordan is that people don't remember every beat of the show, they just remember that they really liked the show and Jared Leto has pretty blue eyes, and really does lean like a champ. Or, as other commenters have said, they were projecting their own brooding real life crush onto the character. Speaking of that, I think that's exactly what Angela is doing the whole night. She's wandering around having a fantasy about the dead kid as a way to work through her feelings about Jordan's situation and we're seeing her daydream through her mind's eye. There's a big theme of fantasy in this episode, from the parents' role playing, to Danielle wanting to pretend to be Angela, or Sharon wanting to pretend she's a kid again for a while. There's even a bit of fantasy on Brian's part that Rayanne is vibing with him. 50-minute episodes, wow before the networks got greedy for more advertising dollars. Another sign of the era, the network likely wouldn't let them have Rickie say, "I thought I'd dress up as a straight person." (BTW, they used that joke on Parks and Rec, I just realized.) That may have been deemed too risqué. Remember that he was the first openly gay teen character in prime time. Finally, this was one of the episodes I thought you'd hate because of the unexplained supernatural element. But I think you got in the spirit very well for My So-Called Stranger Things.

2022-08-03 03:49:56 +0000 UTCfrom the small but very enthusiastic sector of the community that really loves this show, thank you!!! i'm so glad you're planning to finish it. yay! and i'd been WAITING for you to get to this episode. the creepy nicky driscoll stuff is fun (bluuue moooon), but nothing beats danielle's spot-on angela impression. i live for it! p.s. love your t-shirt for this one.
