Really? Wow, I am glad to see more people on the hate Leyton train then 😅 I guess I have been hanging out at the wrong places because every time I interact with a OTH fan, they always seem to be Leyton fans and I'm like oop-

Michel Stephany Garces

I always hated leyton and I’ve seen a lot of people who feel the same.

I am probably one of the only people who never, literally NEVER got behind Leyton! I hated their arc so much. I especially hated this part because they are doing it all over again. Yes, like people mentioned in the comments above there were tons of hints that Peyton still had feelings for Lucas so it didn’t really come out of nowhere. However, I still didn’t like it! Also, yes, I was a big Brucas fan back in the day, but that wasn’t the true reason why I didn’t like Leyton. It was mostly because they always rubbed me the wrong way. Even from the first season tbh. I also hate many of the actions by Peyton but I moreso hate Lucas' ones especially as the seasons go on, which added to my hate for them 😅 I am probably really bias lol. I think another one of the reasons why the writers push the Leyton ordeal soo much at this point is because Sophia and Chad broke up around this time as Chad as cheated on her with Paris Hilton (another blonde just like Peyton) 😭 which is soo crazy if you really think about it and it just hits even harder.. the accuracy ugh. Anyways, I am kinda sad and surprised you didn’t like the Naley renewal of vows/wedding! I believe it was much needed after such a rocky path they had to go through in the previous season. I am soo excited for season 4! Literally my favorite season of the show. Followed by this one and then 5, 6 & 9!! Can't wait uwu

the show did hint at peyton possibly still having feelings for lucas a few times throughout the season...but to me it's still poor writing because they simultaneously built up brooke and lucas and tried to convince the viewers that they were meant to be. so to entertain a possible peyton and lucas reunion AGAIN after all that build up for brooke/lucas is crappy writing. it looks like they're just throwing in another love triangle for drama and shock value. it's also redundant as hell because they've already done this exact love triangle before.

he chose the show because the majority on here voted for it. it was a patreon poll choice for a series for him to watch. this is why i keep saying when people vote on his series to watch polls, they should pick shows that they think steven will like. but instead people vote on shows that THEY like, hoping he'll like it too lbs. i knew based on his criticisms of the OC that he is not a fan of the teen drama genre. and yet people still voted for this show and euphoria (which he also is not enjoying). maybe people will change up how they vote in those polls so we don't have this problem again.

I think I'm in the rare few who absolutely ADORE the later seasons. More than the early ones. Season 4 is a highlight for sure (One of my fave seasons too), but for me, it's just the start of greatness for the rest of the show lol.

Brooke was making total sense talking to Lucas.. So, Lucas and Peyton obviously always had that "spark," and I think deep down Brooke always knew that, so she was always trying to hold on and do incredulous things for Lucas, but it never seemed to be enough. Brooke didn't like not hearing from Lucas while he away visiting colleges with Karen...Because to her, that's Lucas not letting Brooke in-and other examples.. You do miss a lot when you're on your phone.. You hear them talking but you don't see their gestures or their facial expressions. I'm personally not a Brucas fan or a Leyton fan.. If I had to choose, it would be Brooke, and you're right... It is a really stupid choice to do the love triangle between them again.. When Jake said, "You said," I love you, Lucas..." I cringe every time cause like...what?

Olivia

I agree lol about what the show is really about, I was being a little facetious. It is a very silly show sometimes lol. Season 4 is my favorite by far. We get so much great Leyton friendship moments and lots of character growth for everyone.

blugirlami21

I agree with everything about brooke and the show, except the last part. Especially as the show goes on, it becomes about much more than love triangles and car crashes lmao. It gets better and more adult every season imo, and the true core of what OTH is known and loved for hasn't even really started yet. RN, it's a high school drama and while I love that, I feel like season 4 is a turning point into more grown up topics, more drama, more music, more basketball, more everything that leads into the later seasons.

I feel like sometimes you don't pay attention and you miss the nuances a lot. I would love it if you weren't on your phone during reactions. Maybe pause and come back if its urgent. Brooke has been trying to get Lucas to reciprocate her feelings all season long. She is insecure about their relationship because Lucas has consistently gravitated towards Peyton and they have way more in common than she and Lucas do. I think we saw that clearly when she threw that party after Keith died. She was genuinely trying to help but someone like Lucas would never really enjoy something like that. Peyton recognized that in the scene they had together which is why she told Lucas to let Brooke in. The thing I never liked about Brucas besides the games, is that Brooke was always holding on for dear life. She is so insecure about her importance to Lucas that she can't ever really be happy with him. I see both sides of the Brooke/Peyton thing. Yes Peyton could have absolutely have kept her feelings buried but she didn't want to keep secrets like she did before. I think she genuinely has no interest in going after Lucas nor do I think she thinks that Lucas is into her. I also think its perfectly fine for Brooke to be angry and hurt about it. She had a trauma response to what she is perceiving as the same situation happening again where her two closest friends betray her. I'm not super surprised you didn't like the wedding. You don't really seem to care about romance to much which is why I was surprised you chose this show to react to. That's what 90 percent of what it is. Love triangles and car crashes lol.

blugirlami21

yes, we all loved this finale bc so many things happened and new mysteries were set up. ok onto Brooke: whew idk how Steven didn't see that or how it didn't register but Brooke confronting Lucas on how he didn't let her fully in was a looooong time coming. He never confided in Brooke about his feelings (regarding Keith and the school shooting), he hid the kiss in the library, their entire relationship since they got back together was constantly on shaky grounds, she felt super insecure in it, Lucas constantly felt the need to prove himself - now they top it all off with Peyton being in love with him AGAIN - of course Brooke feels him slipping away. Lucas constantly says the right things to Brooke but then his actions speak a different story and that is what she now finally points out. same for Nathan and Haley - this wedding was our present after their tough struggles since season 2, so we as fans loved it a lot.

thisismaria27

absolutely. this entire wedding was our pay-off after two years. it was super earned.

thisismaria27

100% agreed with everything you just said. Especially season 3 was very well thought out and they built towards this finale.

thisismaria27

I really do think it was always the writers' intention to re-introduce Leyton, with the constant hints this season, as you said. I mean, it's classic love triangle drama. I am, however, curious what else the writers could have done where Brooke doesn't end up hurt. Because honestly, every scenario I am imagining ends up with Brooke hurting, because regardless, to her, it's her deepest fears coming true. And I truly don't think it's the same thing again, because Lucas was the one pursuing Peyton in Season 1 while in a relationship with Brooke and they both kept it from Brooke. now, no one is pursuing anyone and Peyton told her the truth about what she felt. It's just a painful and unfortunate situation all-around and honestly, I wish they just built the love triangle differently from the start so we wouldn't be in this mess lol

Brookes speech to Lucas made a lot of sense to me, but maybe because I can put myself in her shoes. Even in the show it makes sense but maybe it's more subtle. Lucas is always opening up to Peyton and running off to save her. Brooke sees and feels that. She even mentioned he never called her while he was away. She has a deep need to be loved and have a strong emotional connection and she's not getting it from Lucas. Then finds out about Peyton and Lucas again (even if it's different). Very realistic reaction to me.

Bruh im watching alongside steven for the first time and im sorry/not sorry its team Brooke all day for me idgaf. Btw that performance by sophia bush when she pointed to the door and said “under me” gave me chills, also the seriousness in her face when she called peyton a backstabbing 2-faced bitch, i was like WOW!!! Not to mention when she poured her heart out to Lucas before the speeches. Sophia fuckin embodied brooke this episode 🔥👏👏👏

I definitely thought there were Leyton hints this season, especially Peyton still having feelings for Lucas. Leyton drama from season 1 was also a huge issue for Brooke and Brucas the whole season. It was inevitable in wtv way that some part of Leyton wasn't done (also they never had closure) and was just simmering below the surface. Why the writers thought it would be a good idea to resurface Leyton by hurting Brooke again and destroying Peyton and Brooke's friendship again is what's baffling to me and something I can't get behind. It wasn't well received the first time, but sure let's basically do the same thing again. Like the first time, I hate that they're fighting over a boy again.

I loved Naley's wedding! It was a great payoff for this two-season arc storyline, their marriage. It started with a rushed wedding at the beginning of season 2 and quickly became a marriage unraveling by the end of season 2. This whole season we saw them slowly rebuild their marriage through honesty and communication (something they lacked previously) and address the issues that plagued them in season 2. Their dedication and commitment to making their marriage work deserved this payoff at the end, a planned-big wedding they got to share with their supportive friends and family.

Rachel being the way she is with Coop is, I think, a cry for help. She's a lonely girl no one really likes and who hates herself more than anyone ever could. She wants to be loved. I think an earlier scene where she was with Brooke and she had just smashed the mirror cuz she hated her reflection and she was crying saying that she just needed Coop to like her really shows her mental state at this point. She's lost and lonely and insecure and she needs someone to love her. Mouth is okay but she can't force herself to feel for him. Coop is older, attractive, has money. It's everything she wants. At the end of the day, she's a 17 year old kid who's desperate, thinking she's in love with him. Rachel's trash a lot of the time but I don't think this is one of them.

I actually love the Naley wedding. They went through a really rough patch that almost ended their marriage altogether and they never had a big wedding in front of everyone they knew and loved. They deserve that big wedding and they deserve to have a beautiful day to renew their vows and commitment to each other. It was a beautiful wedding.

Nyssa Rawther 🍉

Sorry folks, this is going to be a long one. I actually really do appreciate that we got this Naley wedding. Sure, they're already married, but they were separated for several months only months into their marriage and nearly got it annulled. I loved that they re-committed themselves to one another, after everything they've been through, this time, in front of all their friends and family, (minus Haley's parents, of course) and to see everyone's support for this pairing after they were met with such hostility and confusion at the beginning of last season was much needed. Also, I'd like to think Deb paid for the wedding, but that's just headcanon honestly lol Also, people who were around can tell me if I'm wrong but didn't fans choose Naley's song for their first dance? If so, I think that's really cute. Now honestly, I understand why people hate the current Peyton storyline if they were huge fans of Brucas. It must feel like a huge slap in the face to have that relationship threatened. Now from my pov? Brucas was never on solid ground and never felt connected to each other. Luke never noticed when Brooke was sad and sometimes he was downright dismissive of her feelings, albeit unintentionally. Brooke felt so possessive of Luke which has always made me uncomfortable. Their fight was a long time coming because it was literally everything wrong with their relationship. But I did take notice how Luke didn't throw Peyton under the bus in the Brucas argument (which is consistent with Lucas) but he brings up Chris Keller lol Anyways, I don't see Peyton having feelings for Luke as a ~ bad writing choice, ~ but as a consistent writing choice with everything we've seen this season. imo people who thought the writers were propping up B/L as soulmates and L/P as a thing of the past weren't really paying much attention to how much they undermined Brucas, constantly, and used Peyton when doing it. Also, with L/P in Season 1, they were basically in a whole relationship of their own, madly and deeply and selfishly in love, and it all got brought to a screeching halt, and people believed that both of their feelings just... went away forever? I'm actually curious about this lol Also, Peyton asking Brooke if she loves Luke never rubbed me the wrong way because I didn't take it the way Brooke took it. When Lucas and Peyton reunite in the library after the shooting, Peyton is RELIEVED to hear that Lucas is in love with Brooke, because things wouldn't "get weird again." I think she was looking for a similar answer from Brooke, this time to reassure Brooke, that if she loves him, Peyton's feelings don't matter, because Luke is in love with her. But, I can understand Brooke's reaction.

aww kinda sad you didn’t care too much about the finale, i love this episode so much. i feel like every episode is gonna be corny to you 😭😭 sophia bush’s acting in that scene with lucas is so sad because she wasn’t really acting due to the lucas actor cheating on her in real life. also if you could turn up your mic volume a little, it’s hard to hear your commentary when the music is louder.
