Yea that wedding dress would have become super heavy when wet and she would likely have drowned or needed rescuing herself.

Season 4 is also my favorite and I agree with everything you've said. This is the third season premiere that has intentionally had some sort of Leyton focus which is why it is always interesting that people feel blindsided by the show's undying interest in them.

Even without the cheating and being hurt, Brooke was always insecure about Peyton and Lucas. She always questioned why he liked her as opposed to Peyton because they vibed on a different level. "Why me?" She never felt like she measured up to Peyton in Lucas' eyes. Short of Peyton going away that was probably not going to change. I hated how she was hurt again and I still think their breakup should have happened naturally, but maybe this sped up the process for her. She was never going to feel secure about Lucas.

agreed. I mean, I never thought Lucas was Brooke's forever love, it was more a high school love that they felt (in a good way ofc) and they just want and need different things from a relationship imho. Also add on top of that Brooke's insecurity about Lucas being faithful and "all in" was never fully gonna go away. He was the first boy to break her heart and trust, so there was just no way they could work long-term. As for Peyton and Lucas, I think they're just good friends for now and Peyton is trying to conceal her true feelings atm bc she doesn't wanna hurt Brooke more than she already did. Plus, he's still tangled up with Brooke somehow and the timing to reveal that is just not right. I can understand why Steven is against Lucas and Peyton bc there is always big drama involved whenever these two are together and that's just not his thing. But I feel like both Lucas and Peyton have grown a lot since season 1, so maybe this will be different now.

He was basically like if you're not going to jump in shut up lol. This is a tv drama. People are dramatic. In this case at least it was justified and made sense. I guess you can't help what you're annoyed by, but his reaction didn't make sense to me either. Meanwhile, I was cracking up that she was yelling out Nathan and Cooper's name and not Rachel's lol. I'm all for complex characters and giving them a chance, but I never liked Rachel.

I'm not really sure I get you being annoyed by Haley getting worked up over her husband possibly being dead...like, that's an incredibly supercharged moment emotionally for anyone. If she wasn't a good swimmer, especially in a wedding dress, and the only thing jumping in was gonna do was get her drowned and needing to be saved, what good would that have done? I would be yelling out for my husband, too. I'd be terrified and screaming and sobbing. If she'd lost him in a mall, this would have been an overreaction and extra. She thought he was dying or dead and no one could find him. That was the right reaction...

My favorite season! πŸ™ŒπŸ½ Minus RachelπŸ™„

The show does want Lucas and Peyton together, I personally think that's obvious in the first season. I don't know how happy you are going to be this season just by the things you say you don't want lol. I feel like this season is a reset character wise. Everyone really digs deeper into their core as characters. For Lucas that's writing and for Peyton that's music and vlogging. We get to see that also with Brooke and Nathan as well. The Brucas breakup to me was realistic. Lucas has had a lot of upheaval llately and I wouldn't say it made him turn to Brooke any more than usual. I think Haley and Nathan are a good example of being all in their relationship. I would say Brooke and Rachel were frenemies mostly and it makes sense that now that Rachel is kind of being shunned for what you did and Brooke has broken up with Peyton they kind of turn to each other for comfort. Its a mixed bag honestly but I never hated it. Season 4 is probably my favorite, its the season where the show kind of found its voice.

No, we don't know who painted "murderer" on Dan's wall, it's actually a big mystery this season. This season in general is really good.

I think Luke’s narration does literally have to do with the fact that the Season 4 premiere aired just as the CW network launched. The WB name became defunct, so it technically was a β€œnew” network with possibly a new audience. Anyways, this is my favorite season premiere and I won’t apologize for it. Everything was solid, including Luke’s narration and it felt like a much-needed refresh for the fourth season of a television series.

I think Nathan was just yelling for help and Hailey out of instinct (or maybe even so that she knows he's still alive idk) not that he expected her to jump in to save him. His instint was to jump in and help but then I think he quickly realized he was in over his head. Pun semi-intended lol.

There's a reason why Luke was rehashing events, but that will come up later.
