i love the characters (except Tori, Trina and Robbie) and i think the show is very funny. Even to this day. I mean, it's a Nick show, you can say any nick show is 'lackluster' cause they're kids sitcoms lol. I'm curious what show on Nick you love so much that is 'so much' better compared to Victorious. Like even my favorite show, Zoey 101, is corny for the first season, but i love it. Same with Drake & Josh.

She even sang a song she did on the show at one of her concerts with Liz Gillies (again, the girl who plays Jade!). They have a song called Give it Up on the show, which you'll hear eventually, and it's amazing. The guy who plays Robbie is in 2 of her music videos :) and they recently had a livestream reunion during covid, and Ariana was part of it of course. She proudly holds her character Cat to her heart and wrote a post about Cat when the show ended.

Basically Ariana was a theater kid (and actually was in the same musical with Liz Gillies who plays Jade, so they're childhood friends!).She wanted to do r&b music but her manager or whatever was like "you're 14 so hold off cause no one wants that music from a kid". So she auditioned for this show! She was really popular on the show (she was/is my favorite character). So when the show was closing out, she got a new show with Jennette McCurdy and eventually signed to a record label, who made her put out a song called Put Your Hearts Up. But it's a really bubblegum pop song and was mainly to cater to the people who love her character Cat (who's innocent and ditzy). Ariana wanted her music to be more like her, and eventually she released the song The Way Ft. Mac Miller (who she later dated. Rip to Mac). When The Way came out, it was a HUGE hit. I remember loving the song so much. It was a good transition between her cute style on Nick to her more adult music now. Then by the time Sam & Cat (her 2nd show on Nick) ended, she was releasing songs like Bang Bang, Break Free, etc and that's when she started becoming really famous.

Some people look back at it with such nostalgia, they don't see how lacklustre it is (IMO). There are some AMAZING music moments, for sure, but the show itself is corny af 99 percent of the time.

2022-08-18 04:49:59 +0000 UTCI don't really see it, it seems like Steven is looking at Beck through the lens of the guy who kissed Tori which was bad. If you reframe that as an acting kiss, something Jade has to accept as reality sometimes regularly, and far more than that in some roles, then his friendly ongoing behaviour becomes just that - normal friendly behaviour, while he rightly ignores a controlling and (if this was reality) semi abusive partners unreasonable demands.

2022-08-17 04:56:43 +0000 UTCVictorious (and most Dan Schneider shows) are simply weird. Growing up I never realized the amount of weird jokes/things in the show, but looking back overall this show was nostalgic, had funny moments, and had catchy songs.
