bro I love that fight at the end. I remember when this aired I was soo hyped cuz I love klaus and how badass he is but elijah's elegance is masterful and to see him in wrath mode cutting loose was so satisfying

2022-08-20 15:16:30 +0000 UTCAurora didn't just get compelled to not come with them. She was compelled to see him "as the monster he truly is." That is Klaus' deepest wound - and it goes back to his very first love seeing him in that way. And Elijah knew that this is what he had done and lied about it for a thousand years. Klaus, of course, made his own decisions, but Elijah saw him struggling with that betrayal and then wondered why he turned out the way he did? Why he began to see love and family as weaknesses? It really all does go back to Aurora.

2022-08-20 10:55:31 +0000 UTCI don't think she pretended to try to kill herself, I think Aurora's speech was real, she is suffering from mental health issues. Possibly, as mentioned in the comment above BPD or maybe Bipolar Disorder. Also, I understand why Klaus is so angry about what happened, a lot of the reason Klaus is the way he is, is because he believes he cant have or doesn't deserve love, and as we found out in this episode, a lot of that was caused by what happened with Aurora, which as it turns out, was because of Elijah compelling her.

2022-08-20 10:41:30 +0000 UTCAurora mentioned that she was "ill" in the mind in the flashbacks, meaning she has some mental illness or disability (i theorize that its BPD) I could be wrong. Especially when her brother Tristan mentioned she has dark episodes (manic episodes). So, I don't think when she tried to kill herself that she was faking or that it was an act to try and get Rebekah to heal her. She felt trapped by Tristan being denied to see Klaus and so she could have possibly fallen into one of her "manic episodes" and acted accordingly. Like afterwards

2022-08-20 04:35:23 +0000 UTCI agree, plus it doesn't help that the brothers were already at odds (Elijah having not forgave him) about the whole Aunt Dahalia string of events. This is just another issue dividing them once again. Now, even Klaus is blinded by his brothers betrayal

When we first meet Klaus in TVD, he tells Elijah that “love is a vampire’s greatest weakness.” Besides his parents, Aurora is one of the reasons Klaus became so cold and closed off; having the first person he truly loved give voice to his deepest insecurities hurt him deeply and is why he thinks Elijah helped “set his course.”
