Yeah she never said his last name there she said a camera boy named jimmy, it was supposed to be a throwaway for the audience so they could eventually bring him in. They did it a few times with Lois lane before she was introduced.

2022-08-25 23:33:19 +0000 UTCPersonally, this is where the series really gets great because we start tapping into Kryptonian lore a lot more than we did in the earlier seasons which revolved around high school drama. I can't tell you how excited I was when this first aired because we got to actually see The Phantom Zone in live action.

2022-08-25 16:36:09 +0000 UTCLex picking up that piece shows the audience that even he displayed remorse in front of Lana about all that happened, his curiosity and thirst for knowledge and power is still very much there and although plenty died and the world infrastructure went to hell because of this curiosity he’s still on that shit. With lionel it is showing us that he for once was able to read and decipher the text he wrote. And last but not least I know you say you want the show to stay small and stick to just smallville but remember this a Superman origin story and the Lore that encompasses is vast, i mean we have alot of lore associated stuff just in this ep alone, Raya, Phantom Zone, the crystal, zod etc.

I'll just say the scope of the show is changing and you'll start to notice it. It still has the more small scope stuff but I think there are some stuff this season which will help shape your opinion on where the show is heading. Fine also got stabbed last season so his whereabouts are unknown.
