I did not care for the final season at all, but I honestly thought this finale was solid.

2022-09-23 08:12:59 +0000 UTCI really loved the finale, best ep of this season. Go into A Year In The Life blind. You say this finale is how is was supposed to end, but A year in the life is how Amy wanted it to end. A stark contrast to season 7, especially when it comes to Rory. You really need to watch it to understand what ASP was working towards.

2022-09-16 01:34:52 +0000 UTCI only rewatch HIMYM til the second to last episode. The final episode is dead to me lol.

2022-09-15 22:34:40 +0000 UTCI was upset only at the breakup. Logan making it all or nothing after only 2 years together and 22 years old. 2 years at 30 years old would have been different. I feel they should have a year in the "real" world before an engagement. On Rory's side she could have said yes but maybe with a stipulation that it's a 2-3 year engagement. To not rush it or something. I feel a compromise could have been made especially how hard she cared and fought for him to be with her multiple times.

2022-09-15 22:32:32 +0000 UTCI love this episode and I loved this whole Gilmore Girls journey, thank you Steven! Cant wait to see what you think about A year in the life, it's not on the same level but it has some really amazing moments. I assume you already know what's gonna replace this show but please please please don't forget about This is Us. I will be patiently waiting lol

2022-09-14 16:49:20 +0000 UTCFor me it is a good episode and ultimately I am happy with the way the show ended, having said that this was a weird and uneven season, that always made me feel like there was something missing and ultimately not 100% satisfied. But I will take what I can get, and it ended on a good note where I can still rewatch the show over and over and be happy about it (and not in a ball of rage and fury...looking at you GOT and HIMYM) so hindsight is 20/20 :P

2022-09-13 22:29:02 +0000 UTCI think this is a great goodbye! The rainy tent bash always gives me the warm feels. Thanks Steven!!!

2022-09-13 17:55:37 +0000 UTCWhile I don't agree, it was interesting to hear your reaction to watching the full show for the first time! I do wonder whether it would've become one of my comfort shows if I hadn't watched it back "in the day," but while some of the storylines are frustrating later on, there's always another plot line that keeps me invested or charmed (I love Stars Hollow itself as a character). Also, while I do see that some things didn't age as well as others, my perspective on certain things has also changed for the better--for example, I admit I used to find April annoying, but in my old age I feel bad about that, and grateful for the positivity she added to Luke's life.

2022-09-13 17:03:19 +0000 UTCi watched the entire series with you for the first time and i gotta say...i didn't love it. im actually surprised i stuck it out until the end because there were several points throughout the series where i lost interest and wanted to quit lol. maybe i would've liked the show more if i'd watched it during its original airing. i would've been about 12 at the time the show started back in 2000 so maybe i would've liked it better back then as a younger person. but watching it now as someone over 30...it was really hard for me to get through. i thought about 70% of the show was painfully stale and boring.

2022-09-13 16:44:39 +0000 UTCLauren Graham said on Ellen that she found out the show wasn't coming back for another season until after they filmed the finale. But, there had been talks that it most likely wasn't going to have another season so a series finale-feeling episode was filmed to serve as both a season finale it case it did get renewed for an 8th season or a straight up series finale.

2022-09-13 13:14:48 +0000 UTCYes please to Charmed! Been waiting for it since it showed up on a poll - and did very well on it, too

2022-09-13 10:36:32 +0000 UTCI think the Logan and Rory-lack of sadness, for me could be in part, that at this point in her career Alexis Bledel (Rory) was not a very good crier/ good at portraying deep sadness, IMO. She is very good at sad puppy face but actual tears-not so much. Whenever she cried on GG it always fell super flat to me. And that to a super full finale and it was not worth putting in.

2022-09-13 09:08:46 +0000 UTCSo, not sure what your next show will be to replace this one, but maybe at some point in the future you could ad Charmed to your list... and if you'r really feeling adventurous, True Blood is an... interesting way to go.

2022-09-13 08:36:06 +0000 UTCAlexis Bledel said she was glad the show was over and she didn't want to do a reunion. As much as she loved her time on the show she was ready to find a new path. Well, years later something happen and they did the One Year thing, but everyone had been kinda over Gilmore Girls at this point and wanted something else. Yes, this season was rushed, but it for sure could have been worse and I think they did the best they could have. Melissa was starting to bloom too... well, we all know how big she got.

2022-09-13 08:32:38 +0000 UTCI loved how it was the besties husbands to run up to the car for the girls.

2022-09-13 08:25:05 +0000 UTCGo into it blind! Definitely. Otherwise you'll spoil it for yourself. I like this ending. The last series was a bit, eh, but it had its moments. I think if you watch it back anytime, knowing that Rory and Logan break up, you can see it coming. They did have a fair few issues and a lot of them revolve around distance. And it is a massive bug bear for me when someone proposes and says, 'you're it, you're my life. I want to marry you' and then when the other person isn't ready for whatever reason (long distance seperation, unknown future, or being very young; all valid in this case), the proposee then says, 'Well, it's this or nothing'. In that case, they're not ready to be with that person for life.I also think she should have been more upset though as they have been together a long time, but again, i think the signs were there for a while and it was a decision in the back of her mind already. It was great that they had everyone together for this town scene, a great opportunity for the cast to say goodbye. As far as the follow up, i can't say much but I will say that the Gilmore Girls was always about more than just the girls, it was about the town and the relationships, and the impact they had on Stars Hollow, just as it shows in that group scene.

2022-09-13 08:08:30 +0000 UTCthere is no other show that combines the lightheartedness with the heartfelt moments like Gilmore Girls. most similar would be Scrubs, but that clearly leans more into the comedy. every replacement show will either have a more serious note or be generally more silly/soapy. Parenthood would be a good replacement, but it's more down to earth/realistic. I personally would of course recommend "Everwood" ;)

2022-09-13 05:03:16 +0000 UTCthe mini series are 4 movie length episodes. one for each season of the year. and the mini series is from the original creator again. and plz, do not spoil yourself !

2022-09-13 04:18:01 +0000 UTCYea Iβm curious what people wanted. Sure I would have wanted a stronger focused longer ending but I donβt think it was bad

2022-09-13 04:17:31 +0000 UTCChristiane Amanpour is the CNN journalist Rory mentioned in the second episode of the show while being interviewed at Chilton. The one she inspired to be like. I believe Rory didn't grieve for Logan because she was confident in her choice and knew it was the right one. Since Paris had brought it up weeks before, she had been considering this, so it wasn't entirely unexpected to her. Even though she couldn't say it aloud, she knew for months that she wasn't going to end up with Dean, so she didn't cry during the second time she broke up with him, either. This series, in my opinion, still has one of the best series finales and a fantastic final season where all the characters developed. I'm really sorry it was damaged by AITYL, but I am looking forward to your reactions to it as well.Β π
