2023-07-16 02:54:22 +0000 UTCI ALWAYS tear up when the entire school show off their weapons, ready to take on evil together. There's something about it that just gets to me. I've never been a fan of Xander being "key guy". He literally did nothing. BUFFY is the key guy. He did nothing but stand around shouting FIRE. I think there isn't a single thing in this entire series that shows how much Joss Whedon crafted Xander after himself and gave him the same ego as this decision to give Xander some semblance of "heroics" by having him stand around doing nothing. Xander looked 100% too awkward as he stood around "barking" orders too. It doesn't suit him. Also hated Angel bringing up not saying goodbye right before war commences. Like, what was the point of that, mate? We're lucky Buffy's stronger than that and didn't get distracted by that whole nonsense. And maybe just say goodbye after all to the girl who saved you by nearly sacrificing her own life? NEVER understood why the Mayor wanted to ascend into a being with no opposable thumbs. At least pick a demon with limbs to ascend into. Geez. RIP Larry and Harmony. And Snyder too, I guess. Buffy and Faith's shared Slayer dream and the entire school coming together to fight for their lives makes this episode just beautiful to me.
