I think it's not *THAT* random of Lydia showing up to Stiles house.. Yes they're not super close, but considering Lydia's history, it makes sense. She just lost Jackson, and the last time she tried to talk to Alison bc she didn't feel good, she just ignored her and told her she had bigger problems. IMO, she went to the third person that could offer her support AND answers. She's also still a bit in the dark about supernatural things, and she knows that both Stiles and Scott know things. So I think she went with Stiles bc it just made more sense than her visiting Scott and he could give her real answers about what happened with Jackson. And about her not knowing he was safe, I'd like to just assume that Lydia maybe didn't know he was missing. On the field she was very focused on Jackson, and I think the "Stiles is missing" story only lasted maybe less than 2 hours.. I think everything makes sense. The only thing could be yeah them showing up in the same car when it was showed she left his room..
