The Suite Life of Zack & Cody "Smart and Smarterer" 1x18 Reaction

Looked it up and turns out this episode was removed from Disney Plus because they are not proud of the way the top was handled.

Comments

They did air it. They took it off the air after he abused Rihanna in 2009. The episode originally aired in 2008.

I Am Not Chamari

I agree but it doesnt mean it shouldn't be aired. It's sadly realistic someone like Zack would do that and if they must, just put a warning and have it as a topic you can discuss with your family if you watch it together.

the only other episode that is missing is in season 3, because Chris brown was in it and later that year was the Rihanna abuse...they never aired it. I think it was only n On Demand cause i remember i watched it.

I think the issue with the episode is despite teaching a lesson at the end, it uses Zack pretending to be dyslexic as humour, which can definitely be insensitve. Additionally, apparently Esteban's actor (Adrian R'Mante) revealed that it was even controversial back then and almost never aired at all.

Disney15ish

I mentioned episode 18 a few episodes back (maybe on episode 15?) but meant to mention it again on episode 17. This episode was mostly enjoyable because of the Moseby/Esteban and London/Maddie plots. I still maintain that the episode wasn’t bad enough for it to be completely removed, sitting through the Zack stuff was a bit difficult for me. Although I guess it is how a kid trying to scheme his way into better grades would approach it. If Disney+ was really worried, all they needed to do was put a message before the episode about how it might be insensitive or offensive to some and then direct folks to a place to learn more about dyslexia and other disabilities. Zack learns his lessons in the end, so, it doesn’t really send a bad message. It’s just a bit cringe! Anyways, this isn’t the last time we see Bob, just so you have something else to look forward to!

I Am Not Chamari

Yeah, Zack was pretty messed up for this. It's why Disney removed this episode. I think someone else mentioned that in the comments for the previous episode. I totally forgot about the Moseby/Esteban and London/Maddie plots for this episode. Those were pretty fun. Esteban speaking as Moseby was hilarious.
