He is a good villian, and Billy is a good actor, I think the women witches were over the top and him next to them brought down the scene.

2023-01-26 05:21:24 +0000 UTCEp9 doesn't have a strong story, but it's just good fun. ;D episodes that I recognise are well written and stronger aren't always my favourites. For example ep3 or ep5 they're just hilarious and entertaining, but I wouldn't say they're the best in this season. I also like ep12, 14, 15, 16, 20, 21. Episodes that I think are generally stronger and I expect Steven to enjoy and rate higher: Ep2, 8, 12, 14, 18, 20. Ep20 is definitely great, but it's too sad to rewatch sometimes, just like few others. ;D

2023-01-20 09:10:27 +0000 UTCInteresting choices). I think Ep 2 is universally a season 2 favorite for everyone, me included. Unpopular opinion, not a big fan of ep 9 though. For me, the majority of season 2 episodes are pretty great, excluding only a few stinkers here and there, and a few that are just ok. My personal faves are 2(obviously), 8, 14, and 18. And I always thought that ep 20 was the phenomenal one in the season, surprised no one mentioned it. It really stuck with me...

2023-01-20 07:56:53 +0000 UTCOh I love Ep9 too, it's so fun to watch, it's my personal favourite from season 2 :) Season 3 is stronger than first two for sure. Even the weaker episodes he doesn't seem to dislike that much, so I have no doubt the good parts he will be into. I really can't pinpoint when the show stopped being procedural, it definitely reduced a lot over time but I feel like that element of the show never fully leaves. ;D I should also watch more interviews on the production, ones I've seen so far don't really get in depth about these things.

2023-01-19 11:45:23 +0000 UTCI know you weren't asking me, but personally I like: Episode 2, episode 9, episode 10, episode 12, episode 14, episode 15, episode 21, and episode 22 isn't bad. Those are my favorites off the top of my head. However, I haven't seen them in a few years, so the details of every one alludes me. I just remember the main story and if I enjoyed it or not. I'm still of the camp that Charmed starts for me at season 3 though. The first season feels too procedural and disconnected. Season 2 gets a lot better, but still feels episodic. I find I don't really like Constance M Burge's influence on the show. From what I've read in interviews, she wanted it to be just the sisters and more procedural. So there wouldn't be a lot of important side characters or connections. It would be similar to a procedural where you only get a bit of character work here and there. Anyway, I think Steven will enjoy season 2 more than season one. Like some others have said above, 90's shows just sometimes had bad first seasons. They kind of fixed this in the 2000's series. Then it kind of became the opposite...whereas the first seasons were great and then the show falls off. That's my two cents for anyone that cares! :)

2023-01-19 04:38:17 +0000 UTCI often forget how much I hate the first season and I'm a die hard OG Charmed fan. I still enjoy a few episodes from this season, this episode included because I do love Barbas. Vanquishes get better, villains get better, and their relationships with each other and others gets so much better. I'm glad to see you enjoy even these campy episodes which tells me when you get to the real meat and potatoes of the show, you'll love it like we do.

2023-01-18 19:53:11 +0000 UTCWhich episodes in particular? ๐ just curious ๐ In season 2 I predict Ep2 will be a hit. Ep14 stands out too. I dislike only a couple episodes in S2 I don't enjoy that much, all of the season is fun to watch.

2023-01-18 19:44:42 +0000 UTCI canโt wait for you to get to season 2 and especially season 3, it gets sooo much better! The storylines, the villains, I think youโll really like it. There are a couple of episodes in particular I think youโll really enjoy, so Iโm excited to see your reactions to them! ALSO, Iโm so glad you get to see the episodes with the original songe - the new ones were just not it. The new intro is cringey AF

2023-01-18 17:35:08 +0000 UTCBarbas died bc he had until midnight to kill 13 witches and if he doesn't succeed he goes back to hell. Since it was nighttime and he didn't manage to kill either Prue or Phoebe he failed. As for villains on this show in general: they get waaay better over time. In the beginning Charmed had to find its footing and what the show wants to be.

2023-01-18 11:23:57 +0000 UTCYeah some of the vanquishes are very unsatisfying ;D Barbas is a good villain though, but he annoys me so much for some reason. I think it's half and half of what's actually going on and how much it is in their heads when it comes to their greatest fears coming to life. Barbas plays with their minds with his powers.

2023-01-18 06:12:32 +0000 UTCAgree with above comments. I think there is also a major factor that creators, coming out of melodramatic soap opera background affected the directing and over-the-top melodramatic acting in the first season. If you watch something like Melrose Place(original from the early 90s), which was produced also by Aaron Spelling, you'll find that the acting choices and the way it was shot are very much like that. But it is mostly a season 1 problem, the rest of the seasons, went in a bit different direction, and I promise it will get better in all the aspects that you have mentioned. At this point, villains are very much a plot device to serve the characters. BTW, he didn't die. He only has the ability to come out of his prison hell once in 1300 years (or something like that number) on Friday the 13 and has to kill 13 witches by midnight to get free. Since Prue defeated her fear, he failed and was sucked back to hell to be imprisoned again.

2023-01-18 05:35:56 +0000 UTCI've had that, CAN YOU START TODAY? offer before, it's rare... I think it just depends on the business and how fast they can get the paperwork done.

2023-01-18 04:27:22 +0000 UTCYeah, I agree with the above comment. First seasons in the 90s didn't have a big budget for special effects, plus they weren't great at the time, so they rely on the sisters and emotions, using the villains as a plot point rather than the main focus, at least until the show proved its staying power and got some more money behind it.

2023-01-18 04:27:08 +0000 UTCLOVE Billy Draco... BTW, the MASTER was way over the top, as well as all other vamps in season one on Buffy, that was just the way most 90s' shows went at the start.
