Every. Single. Time. Every single time I watch Buffy receive her Class Protector award I cry. She does so much, sacrifice so much, and she never gets any thanks let alone recognition. It's truly amazing that they gave her both here. Incredibly morbid that they could applause at their class having the lowest mortality rate, but that's the Hellmouth for ya. I was completely heartbroken right alongside Buffy when I first watched this episode but I totally get it now. There's no future. This was always gonna be how they end. It's hard to imagine Buffy with a regular guy but she still can't have a life with Angel, who literally can't grow up with her anyway.
