(In this the the point is a place that has a body of water) maybe the show runners we’re trying to throw in something the parents would catch the reference to or older siblings watching the shows

Things definitely get better when Chad enters the show and we get to see more of the relationship between him and Sonny as well as So Random and Mackenzie Falls. Also the sketches in this show are very hit or miss, mostly miss, but they aren’t really the focus.

2023-06-26 15:36:28 +0000 UTCI was curious to see if my memory/nostalgia is betraying me, so I continued Season 1 with Sonny With A Chance and my memory does serve me right - the bright light of the show is Chad Dylan Cooper and Sonny and Chad. I also really like Tawni as a a character. The sketches themselves ultimately become irrelevant. Like, they work on sketches and all of that kind of stuff, but it’s more interesting to see them work on it than the actual sketch itself, if that makes sense.

2023-06-26 14:49:03 +0000 UTCLook I think the biggest reason for why we liked this show was Demi and Sterling Knight (the guy who plays Chad Dylan Cooper, the blond guy you didn't see yet). He appears next episode and he is one of my favorite character ever because he is one of the few "douche" done well. He was a lot of people's crush and the actor does a great job at bringing the character to life. Honestly I don't see someone who could have done it better.

2023-06-26 04:36:36 +0000 UTCalso!! as stated above, the sketch show theyre on is called so random. sonny with a chance follows the actors on the set of their show, their dynamics with each other and the other actors. the sketches aren't all that funny but they're also not the point. the point is the actors and their dynamic and the hijinks they get into, as well as their dynamic with other actors from their rival show on their network. think of it kind of like disney at the time. you have a main group of stars (ashley tisdale for example) who feature on multiple shows and movies and probably is friends with and close with the general cast of the network. that's what this show is, the dynamics of everyone that's on this network. the skits aren't the point and can be overlooked. you're not supposed to really take them seriously. they're more like parodying the ridiculous random shows at the time (think all that, mad tv, etc)

2023-06-26 04:23:02 +0000 UTCSo the sketches are not really part of the show itself, from what I remember of all that its the kid version of snl and the sketches are part of the show. the spin off is so random which is the show they are doing on the show so its only sketches. I used to love this show but hated the sketches part of it I didnt think they were that funny so I definitely didn't continue watching when the show shifted to just "So random." Also I revisited All that recently and that doesn't really hold up either.
