I really love Sam and Brooke's relationship. My last internship was with therapeutic foster care, and a lot of kids are good kids who are terrified of getting close to someone who will either hurt or leave them.

It's funny how ppl tear down Peyton for always being the root of all drama but even when she gets playful, lighthearted episodes (which is what fans have been asking for) she still gets dunked on for "being mean" when it's just banter amongst couples. I wonder if some of these ppl have ever been in a long term relationship cause wow they do not understand dynamics unless they're the usual toxic tropes.

2023-07-12 14:02:10 +0000 UTCI LOVE this episode...for the Naley/Jamie and Brooke/Sam stuff. I usually skip forward all thr Lucas/Peyton stuff for this episode. I think this is the first time I've watched their scenes in this ep since the first time I ever watched it. Listen, I'm glad Leyton got their shit figured out cuz they're just insufferable otherwise. But this is one of those episodes in drama shows where the characters have nothing to further the plot so they just put empty lines in their mouth. It was just too cringey and annoying for my taste. YES MOMMA BEAR HALEY!!! I really wanted to see her punch the daylights out of that woman. Nathan finding it hilarious and hot was funny. I think it's realistic that a kid like Sam would push Brooke's limits just to see what she could get away with. She doesn't know how lucky she is just yet. Btw, you have NO IDEA how hard it was for me to SHUT UP and not say anything when we said goodbye to Gigi in high school. You were sad to see her go and I kept thinking to this episode and wondering "wonder what Steven would think about the 'hot intern'". Yeah, Gigi was nice for Mouth back then but now we've got ourselves Queen Millie so back away, Gigi. BACK! I really like Nathan's approach to the Chuck situation too. Is 5 really too old to be wearing a cape? 5 is still so little...I mean, they should be free to wear whatever they want at whatever age anyway. Chuck's mom has ISSUES. Dan literally NEVER learns his lesson. It's why there's just no redemption for him. Even what he's teaching Jamie isn't a good thing. I know Chuck's mom is a total bitch but thinly veiled threats of murder is a BIT much, Dan. Get some therapy. I think Sam snuck out at night and came home in time for breakfast at 7am. Brooke should have added no sneaking out and a curfew and maybe even "tell me when you're going out and where you're going" to her list of rules. Also think Jamie outgrew his cape, the way Haley outgrew her poncho. Or maybe he just didn't think it was that special anymore to wear a cape since everyone else has one too 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️

I mean, I’m 21 and me and my friend walked around town wearing unicorn horn headbands recently just cuz we wanted to. You’re never too old for these things!

2023-07-06 21:35:33 +0000 UTCI liked the Peyton and Lucas stuff, it's nice to see them being more light and funny, rather then all the drama their relationship usually entails. I also think it's pretty normal for couples to be nervous when first moving in together and couples can sometimes end up caring about those kinds of articles and quizzes. With foster kids, especially those who have been abused and mistreated they can often push boundaries and test limits, to see how far they can push someone and if they will get the same treatment and because it takes awhile to build up trust. I feel like the movie Instant Family does a good job of talking about the foster system and fostering kids, if you've ever seen that movie.

2023-07-06 10:46:00 +0000 UTCSeasons 1-3 Peyton was depressed and gloomy all the time. I like seeing her happy like this. This is Peyton being fun and letting loose like in season 4, which in my opinion, is her best season. This is one of my all-time favorite episodes because of how fun her and Lucas are. It's a stupid trope (the whole magazine article/quiz thing regarding a relationship), but it is realistic and it's so nice to see Leyton being silly. It's very rare they get to be because the writers torture them endlessly. I enjoy the little breaks where they can smile.

2023-07-06 03:59:02 +0000 UTCThe thing with Sam is she's a VERY traumatised teenager. She's been in Foster Care her whole life, which is NOT a good place to be. She's clearly been abused and neglected and just generally treated like shit, and so she's not used to someone actually caring. I believe she was pushing boundaries here. Seeing what it would take for Brooke to give up on her and just kick her out. Seeing what she could get away with. What Brooke's reaction would be to certain things, if she'd end up hurt or abandoned. Brooke telling her she wants to make it official and actually Foster her, I think that showed her that Brooke is serious about this. It's not going to fix everything, but it shows that Brooke is willing to put in the effort and so Sam will be willing to do the same. Also, the end with her having climbed out the window and then coming in the door. I believe it was that she'd snuck out at some point in the night and got back for Breakfast. I think she was probably still a little nervous about actually sleeping there. But it's baby steps. They're working on it. Things like this won't be easy... Also, you're NEVER too old to wear a cape!
