pretty sure haley's entire storyline this episode...from everyone forgetting her birthday, to the pink dress she wore to the dance, to the infamous table scene at the end...were all a nod to "16 candles". all the plots in this episode were inspired by hughe's movies from the 80s. thought this was a creative way to pay homage to someone famous for their movies about teens, given that one tree hill started as a teen show. i love this episode.
