She's a banshee, of course we will get into this more as the season goes along. Yes that is Jennifer's true form. Like the sheriff asked, she was the woman they found in the woods with her face slashed. She wears a glamour of sorts. I think Jennifer is just saying that the type of mythical creatures they are tend to be loners or outside the circle so to speak. Lydia is different though because she is part Scott's pack.
