You can narrow down when they met to definitely between 1985 and 1991. Peter was brought across from the alternative universe in 1985, and Walter was committed in 1991.

2023-11-05 18:54:54 +0000 UTCNot that it's necessarily definitive for the characters they play, but John Noble (Walter) was born in 1948, Theresa Russell (Rebecca) in 1957. So going by that, at this point he is 61 and she is 52. He was kept in the hospital for 17 years, so if we guess that they first met 20 years ago, their ages might have been 41 and 32.

Of course its bittersweet because this is the end of shapeshifter Charlie and as a consequence the last time we see Kirk Acevedo for a while anyway. I don't think I was as sad about it as Steven because by this point it wasn't Charlie, just someone wearing his face. Olivia did the best she could, he would have killed her otherwise. We know that William Bell was a part of the Cortexiphan trials that Olivia was a part of as a child, he and Walter were fully lab partners back then. That's why he was waiting to meet her "again" and why she had a childish nickname for him. Rebecca can recognize people who don't belong here not just shapeshifters, I'm not entirely sure why that was hard for you to grasp. Maybe her powers were still not strong enough to fully recognize it in Peter when he was a boy but its obvious to her now. He glowed when she looked at him because he doesn't belong in this universe. And yeah Walter did a lot of shady stuff his whole career, I thought that was obvious at this point lol.

And she mentioned that it looked like a glow. That's what she saw when Peter was a kid and now (the bright thing around him). She noticed the glow and now she knows for sure.
