2023-10-30 02:04:49 +0000 UTCexactly!! i'm autistic too and i had hoped the backlash she faced for "music" would help educate her. instead, she doubled-down and got more hateful and antagonistic. i give people the benefit of the doubt if they're genuinely ignorant. but she had an opportunity to listen to autistic voices telling her "hey this isn't okay" and instead of listening and educating and growing she....did the exact opposite. have you seen the show heartbreak high? there's a line where someone says something ignorant about autism and the autistic character - played by an autistic actor - responds, "okay, sia." lol

2023-10-30 00:34:55 +0000 UTCyeah... as an autistic person im just completely put off by her. shes done actual damage to the community and the way she handled things when people called her out was just absolutely not it. and then on top of that the weird shit with maddie... she just makes me very uncomfortable

2023-10-29 23:56:04 +0000 UTCsia and maddie...sigh. sia is an odd duck. she has been very hateful to the autistic community in the past. now she's saying she herself is autistic which i don't want to dispute but it's important to note you can be a part of a community and still be a hateful person to others in said community which...sia has a history of being. she uses maddie a lot and there's some problematic behaviors there as well that i'm not gonna say there's something weird going on there but it's just....unusual. to say the least. i think sia is a very good artist and her music is really good. chandelier is still one of my favorites. she's struggled in the past with her own demons and channels that into her art which i have to respect that kind of bravery and artistry. i don't wish her any unwell, but she's done enough things in the past that have put me off from her and her music.

2023-10-29 20:45:59 +0000 UTCMaddie rose to fame on the show dance moms and was still filming dance moms when elastic heart came out - there was a heap of confusion and negativity about it… I’m sure it was a little overplayed for the show but I personally don’t get the video at all.
