Interestingly enough t he show was actually originally pitched and developed as an hour long show, but decided to change it to half-hour. It has a weird production history: the pilot was ordered by Disney Channel, then picked up by Disney+ with a "cast-contingent" series order but after months the Disney+ team couldn't find a cast, so they passed on it, then Disney Channel continued pre-production because the network was still confident about the show.
