JJ didn't go instead of Elle because JJ isn't a field agent, she's a media liaison, so she deals with press.

2024-07-24 16:49:23 +0000 UTCI think the team kind of let her down.. I wasn't her biggest fan, and she shouldn't have killed him. BUT, I do think that she deserved better support from the team. Not bc she killed him, but after she was attacked. When everything went down, she was literally on vacation with Morgan. But since then, he never really had any moment with her. She also came back way too quick. And it's understandable from her part, but Hotch and Gideon, bc they are her superiors, didn't have to allow her to come back that quickly. Then we have Reid, who tried to get her to talk during this ep, but he really didn't go far. And her consumption of alcohol, alone in her room, when they are in the middle of a case, should have been noticed by him/reported. I think you have to put this storyline in perspective with what Hotch was living last ep. How this job is very hard, and very not normal. Elle has been in this team since season 1, and she was not made for this job, even before her aggression. But I do agree that the team let her down, I agree about Reid being SO out of touch, and I'm disappointed in Morgan bc I kind of saw them as friends. At least like the two people that are the closest in the team. And I'm disappointed in Hotch and Gideon bc they didn't pick up on the sign. Anyway, Elle was wrong, and she was never my favorite character. But I still think she deserved better.. But I love what's coming!

2024-03-10 17:15:27 +0000 UTCThey were looking at Elle funny in the beginning because the fact that this rapist would wait for the women inside their own homes and Elle was shot while the Fisher King waited inside her own home. I think the reason they couldn't use JJ is because she's not technically like a field agent or whatever they'd call it. Like she comes with them as a media liason, not as a special agent. She's FBI, but I don't think she's "undercover operation FBI" lol Personally I think it would make more sense if they used that local female officer that's been with them, but they probably trust each other to do a job more than the local police. Still, it was not smart at ALL to put Elle in this position and while Elle is a grown woman and responsible for her own actions, I'll always believe Hotch and Gideon dropped the ball as supervisors/leaders who should've been more aware of her instability. This guy was a POS and deserved to die, but I'll never be on board with police/FBI whatever just being able to kill people, lie about it and then get away scott free, because I know how easily that can be and is abused and directed at innocent people. Gotta hold them accountable everytime 🤷🏿♀️
