Basically it seems like at the time (2010) shows like Full House were doing good in reruns on other networks and Disney wanted to get in on that crowd . The Disney Channel president at the time also promoted the fact that since networks weren't doing them anymore they were able to snatch up experienced talent for behind the camera.
