Yeah, I didn't like Hope either. Didn't like her then and don't like her still. I didn't mind young Hope as much. Older Hope comes off pretty annoying to me, but it's more than that. I could forgive her just for teen behavior. However, there is something about her (and I can't pinpoint it) that makes me just never warm up to her.

2024-02-24 05:57:10 +0000 UTChope is basically a teen just lashing out and making very poor choices in this ep. I can see why you found her annoying but she actually aint that bad in this show. She'll grow on you. I just hope you don't condemn her character and blantantly blindly hate her for the rest of the season because of her dumb choices in the first episode. I hope you do give her a chance and space to grow with the given context of her being a teenager, having her own issues, etc.

2024-02-23 23:22:42 +0000 UTCa lot of hope's behavior seems to boil down to just typical teenage girl behavior. teens make mistakes. they don't think about consequences, or see things "big picture." it's all very "in the moment" thinking, rash decisions, etc. i know her character gets a lot of criticism, and maybe sometimes justifiably so, but a lot of times i'm just like "yup. typical teenage girl" lol

She seemed like an expected teenager to me, if they have power they don't understand or don't think enough of the consequences. Maybe for creating a hybrid she just knew the idea of it all but had never actually seen it in action of how bad it could get.

2024-02-23 18:57:30 +0000 UTCIn mild, not really defense of Hope because what she did was really stupid, she was just trying to help him and didn't really think of the consequences. She's also young and well, young people make stupid decisions and mistakes, then they have to deal with them and learn and grow from them. Also, she's a Mikaelson, did we forget some of the things they've done and decisions they've made, I feel like were lucky she didn't kill the whole school because she had a bad day. As for being punished, well she did get suspended from school and her mother is trying to teach her what she did was wrong, but the rest of the Mikaelson's I feel like they don't have much legs to stand on when it comes to good decision making, which is probably why their not having that big of a reaction, especially Kol, with the decisions he's made. Although, to be fair when I first watched this I wasn't really sure I liked Hope that much either, I was kind of like I miss kid Hope and I feel like with her attitude she's going to make more bad decisions, but honestly I'm going to try to have patience, because I had problems with some of the things Klaus did but ended up loving him and I hated Kol and now I really like him, so who knows. I also feel like when I was first watching this I didn't really love the actress in the role, because I thought the actress who played young Hope did great and I didn't like the choices the new actress was making, I felt like the character came off as a little bit of an idiot or brat, but young Hope came off as a little more intelligent but I do think she grew a lot with the role and also the actress Danielle Rose Russell had to deal with so many hate comments and people calling her fat which was terrible and no one should have to deal with. Sorry for the long comment.
