Obviously they are different plot lines π I feel that Disney and Nick have always been competing with each other with similar shows and movies but obviously changed enough to make there own. Like "Spectacular!" And High School Musical.

Two completely different stories lolππ Someone said this in the chat too, I think ppl are just grouping them together since they both were released so close together on children networks
