They couldn't introduce her earlier because they didn't know that far ahead what would happen to Shannen, they couldn't leave them as just the power of two for now and integrate Paige later because The Source would just kill them, they don't stand a chance just the two of them, he's only not killing them because they are the power of three again, and she had to be their sister because honestly I think if she was just a random witch that could be a Charmed One i think thats lazier writing than a long lost sister, and the reasons they gave for giving her away do make sense and at least her powers are a bit different so its not exactly the same as Prue's. It was a shitty situation for the writers to be in and I honestly think they did the best with what they had. It is a different era of the show and does take some adjustment but there is still a lot of good to come. As others have said especially Pipers development, she's my favourite character of all time and Holly knocks it out the park every time.

2024-02-26 07:39:02 +0000 UTCI never liked Prue so my reaction was totally different xD Nevertheless, I also didn't like the thread with the suddenly found sister, they played it badly. As for the way to get Pure, I think the problem was also on the side of Shannen - departed the show amidst reported turmoil with costar Alyssa Milano. Season 4 was supposed to start completely different. ... Producers first considered recasting Prue, but ended up opting to kill her instead. The death was not completely evident in that episode, and it had to be recut in order to explain Prue's absence from the show.

I do think as angry as you are right now, you will adjust. The growth that the characters undergo especially Piper is so phenomenal. And like others have said Paige is not Prue at all. I think that will help the most.

2024-02-25 23:43:16 +0000 UTCyears ago when i first discovered this show, i only watched for shannen doherty because i loved her in other roles. prue was also my favorite of the 3 sisters. so when the show killed her off, i stopped watching. i've only ever seen seasons 1-3 of the show. so i completely get your frustration. if you choose to continue watching, i'll be watching the rest of the series for the first time too, via your reactions. people say the rest of the show is good so im willing to give it another chance. i hope you are too.

It was pretty similar to my reaction, even though I had way more of a heads up than you did that a big change in the Charmed Ones was coming. Those of us who watched Charmed during its original air ended season 3 the same way you did. The difference is that the news hit during that summer hiatus that Shannen Doherty would not be returning in the fall to the show. I remember that news hit about halfway through that summer, so it had been a few weeks since the season 3 finale aired, and a couple more months before the new season premiered. We had no idea if her role would be recast, or what direction the show was going. A few weeks later, they started dropping promo images of season 4 with Piper and Phoebe's images at the top, and the text in the middle "And a Rose makes 3..." and then bottom center was the image of Paige. That was when we first found out Rose McGowan joined the show as the 3rd sister, but we were still lost, because she was still too young to be playing Prue. So we came into this season premiere knowing...but not knowing. And we came out of it still as pissed off as you did. But as everyone else has already said...it def does get better. Paige will grow on you. In fact, I'm gonna go on record now and say that, should you stick it through to the finale of the show, you just might list Paige as your favorite of the sisters, although I have no doubt that Piper will give her a run for her money.

I loved Prue and I cry like a baby every time I watch this episode but Paige is different and I Hope you dont just complain and give her a chance but I understand your angry.

Since we've all experienced this, I feel like most of us are very understanding of your anger and bewilderment. I have a feeling you are going to like Paige later on, but I also get that it's going to take a while. (viewers - he will most definitely be calling characters and decisions dumb. I hope some of you won't get too mad, like on some other shows, he's just in denial lol) In my opinion, it's better to let all your anger & emotions out with these first couple of episodes (since there are some GREAT episodes this season), so you'll be able to enjoy the season faster. Paige is a replacement character for the 3rd sister needed for the charmed ones, but she isn't a replacement for Prue. I think you'll get to understand that as the season goes on, even if it doesn't feel that way right now. Either way, take your time! If it takes you the whole season to warm up to Paige, then so be it 🤷♀️. She is my second favorite sister, so it does get better :)

I remember when you first started the show and I think you mentioned that you thought Rose McGowan was in it or something… and yeah you were right but this is not the way you expected it.
