forgot to add that this is also why his reasoning doesn’t make sense, because it was based on pure emotion. he was only thinking with his heart and not his head. you’re actually thinking with your head because you have no emotional attachment whereas he is emotionally attached because that’s his daughter lol

I personally think that for Robby it was just about the fact that Miley was growing up and didn’t really need him anymore. Like obviously he knew she would be safe with Roxie but it was never about that for him, regardless of if she went with Roxie or by herself, i’m pretty sure he would’ve felt the same way because for him it’s just about the fact that his little girl didn’t need him anymore. She was ready to be independent and he wasn’t ready for her to not need him.

Also, i agree the reasoning was kind of dumb but i think i can forgive it cause of the heart of the episode and the song at the end always made me cry. I don't think Miley would ever dare going alone. Maybe if Jackson was the person, then it can be like since they're both underage it would be more reasonable to be like "no way".
