jeannette is definitely worse, she left that girl down there to potential die because she had essentially taken Kate's spot in the teens social circle and didnt want to go back to how she was. In all honesty though she would have gotten in trouble for trespassing but I feel like she would have gotten more credit for saving Kate versus everything else. Are you ever going to watch season 2 it's more messy in comparison to season 1 even though I think season 1 is a much better written & acted season.

Similar to the person who spoke to you about the show, I believe Martin had pedophile tendencies, and even though he tried to "hide" and/or suppress them, they still came to light in one way or another. In my opinion, Martin was both a pedo and a groomer. I'm gonna give you my examples. Yes, as a principal, he can talk to a child, give them advice, and interact but he went above that. Granted, he had access to getting extremely close to Kate because he was friends with the family. He noticed that Kate was not having a good relationship with her parents (as a principal, yes, he can worried about the situation and maybe speak to Kate AND her parents about it). Still, instead, he ONLY spoke to Kate, creating this comfort place for her where she was able to feel safe. He slowly starts to build on this fantasy that he is the only one who can save her (offering rides, getting her to open up, etc), and paints her this idea that she is SO MATURE - "mistaking her as an adult" - to the point she could consider being with him (he brings up this point again during the drinking game). Because he sees Kate's vulnerabilities and notices the fact that she already has a little crush on him, he takes advantage, making these little comments that start enticing her more. Of course, it gets worse when she is already in her house and that's where the extreme grooming starts lol.

2024-09-25 05:50:26 +0000 UTCin regards to your question about who is worse...martin or jeanette. it's definitely martin...because he's the adult. and he should know better. also in regards to your second question about how he groomed her. he lied to her mother about her whereabouts, cut her off from civilization, and refused to tell anyone where she was even though he knew she was in his house. when the mother came to the school asking where her daughter was, he could've easily told her. he chose to lie instead. that's what groomers do. they isolate you from your family and loved one so that they're the only person you can depend on.
