Another Cinderella Story Movie Movie Reaction

Comments

I feel like you didn't even give the movie a chance tbh. Like, what do you mean there was no plot? You were barely 30 minutes in and it's Cinderella...an established storyline that is the base of the plot. Joey is a teen popstar who is trying to get back to his roots and take a break from his star life while holding a dance contest and Marie is an outcast girl who is trying to get into a dance school. She has an established crush on him (idk why they made the video of her as a kid so young when she's clearly only a year or two younger than him since he's a senior and i think she's a sophmore) Those are the plots. They meet at the ball and you know the story from there. You can not like the plot, but i feel like you barely even try to follow the stories of shows and movies anymore. And then you ask questions that were answered two seconds ago. "He's like 20" but he literally said he's back to finish his senior year. "How do you know it's her?" five seconds ago they literally showed them under the stairs overhearing her say it was her at the dance.

The arguments you guys make don’t apply when I react to so much kids stuff that I love. Kids movies can just be bad. Does not matter who they are for. A good movie is a good movie. High School Musical is geared towards a specific audience yet I had a good time with that movie. Same goes for Cheetah Girls, Wendy Wu and a bunch more. You may enjoy the movie but I don’t go into a kids movie with a high bar. I go in to enjoy myself.

definitely not a top tier movie lol, but there are some good moments. the dance class mirror scene and the ending song performance were so iconic when i was younger. i agree i think letting selena and drew sing more than dance would’ve been great

I love the Lucy Hale version too!! It falls somewhere in the middle between these two. And I think the comedy actually hits pretty hard

exactly!! like there's the disney classics and kids classics in general that adults can enjoy like little mermaid, cinderella, beauty and the beast, shrek, toy story etc but then these types of movies are made so specifically for a very young pre teen audience. the first cinderella story with hilary duff was in movie theaters and targeted to a larger teen demographic. middle and high school could like it. heck i still like it. but this one and the one with lucy hale feel very "young" and i think you have to go into these movies with that expectation. there was a huge difference and "skip" in disney between lizzie and raven and hanah montana and what would follow her. this era of disney started feeling as if it was aiming very very young when previously it aired things like growing pains, boy meets world, lizzie and raven, episodes that dealt with racism and eating disorders and other heavy, important topics. it stopped skewing for that age group not long before this movie

I think watching anything Disney related, it's better to not expect much. Personally I think in general when you watch Disney movies/tv shows and you expect certain things to happen or things to be explained and those things don't happen or get explained, it can be disappointing or seen as weird. With certain Disney movies or shows, it's better to just watch for the enjoyment. I think that's the whole point. I sometimes think when people watch Disney stuff, they forget that it's exactly that, a Disney show I'm sure made for little kids and/or early teens. Since it's made for a younger audience certain things are not always going to be explained or made sense. It's nice to just watch and not have to think too hard over disney.

So I prefer the 3rd one: Cinderella: once upon a song over the second one. It’s not a musical but it is kinda at the same time and it has Lucy Hale in it. The fourth one has Evie from descendants and there’s also singing in that one. One of my favorite musicals is lovestruck: the musical. Also there’s a dancing movie called take the lead that has the guy Dustin (Cupid/ the funk) in it and that’s pretty good too.

why do you need the plot explained within the first 5 minutes ?? just watch the movie lol
