A lot of Luke’s antics are for comedic effect. Every character in this show has a distinct character trait that is very heightened and for Luke it’s his cynicism.

2024-06-16 20:25:40 +0000 UTCluke was a hard character for me to connect with. a lot of his behavior towards lorelei and rory felt immature and controlling at times. like there's a lot of instances where he felt he had a right to a say to their choices and butt in and make comments on those choices and parenting etc. or get mad at lorelei for her choices in men or something and act out like he was punishing her over it and it just was super off putting. the "tension" between him and lorelei felt weird at times too. i always wished that like in season 1 we'd gotten more background info about their relationship to each other so we could know more about what the connection is between them.
