Proof of Life #255: "Short" PoL on the upcoming update 18
Added 2025-01-06 20:32:51 +0000 UTCHello peeps, how鈥檚 it going in this fine morning/afternoon/evening? As you can expect, I鈥檝e been taking things a bit easier since the new update鈥檚 first release last Friday, so I haven鈥檛 much to show. But that doesn鈥檛 mean I have been doing nothing.
Overall, the new update鈥檚 been generally well received, so I鈥檓 quite happy about that. With most of the maps done, the next one should come out faster than Update 17, which will conclude the beach episode before everyone leaves the white sand and the crystal-clear water behind for the paved roads of the capital.
I initially wanted to take some time off myself since I didn鈥檛 get any during Christmas, but I learned that one of the main artists is going to be taking his own vacation for one to two months from the 16th of this month, and since he鈥檚 a pretty talented and reliable dude, I鈥檝e decided to start working right away to try and plan out the entire new update + the scenes first so I can commission as much stuff as possible from him before he leaves. I鈥檝e already got one scene entirely commissioned and written the rough script for the beginning of Update 18.
I鈥檒l be taking a few days off later on so I can finally finish that Steam release that I鈥檝e been working on for over a year now and to take care of the irl stuff I鈥檝e been neglecting lately. Also, because I kind of need it. I haven鈥檛 had that many days off in the past 12 months, but thankfully I like what I do, so it鈥檚 not that bad : ) It won鈥檛 be long, really. A week at most.
PS: the screenshot is a maze map I made a while ago for Update 17, but I ended up forgetting about it and it was left unused. I want to make use of it in the next update, although I鈥檓 still looking for ideas. If you have any, let me know ; )
That鈥檚 it for this week! See y鈥檃ll next Monday. Or rather, next Wednesday for the release of the 5$ version of the new update.

2025-01-08 13:44:20 +0000 UTCThere might be more of that in this update, you'll see. I won't go too far into the "town bicycle" angle because I want to keep it relatively 1-1 with the antagonists, but there's probably going to be a full ending where they're being shared around.

I personally would love to see even more lewd scenes of the main characters interacting with other characters, like rose with the pirates or in the bathroom with that guy, acting more on their own without someone pushing them to. In my eyes it shows more of their corruption and change in them

2025-01-06 23:42:56 +0000 UTCI've been thinking about it. As I mentioned, I haven't played the latest update yet, so if this idea contradicts anything, I apologize in advance. To get them to the maze you can easily say the characters want to try something fun and have one of the characters, likely the Duke, tell them a tale of a hedge maze nearby that was once visited by two lovers from rival families. The classic Romeo and Juliet treatment, lovers that aren't meant to be. They met in the maze when they both wanted to get away for a bit from their controlling parents and soon it became a routine for them. It was the only place they could be alone as lovers without being caught. The Duke could then say because of that tale people believe that if you enter the maze, the first person they see is their true love. This will obviously get the girls excited since they all want to bump into Leto. So each character enters the maze at different places or if it's easier, at different times. The Duke who made the entire story up because he knows how to manipulate the girls with a classic love story trope, knows the maze layout so he can easily arrange it so the pairings match up. Each pairing does and after dialogue between each pair, things get sexual. Leto can hear the moans, but to make him still oblivious to the acts happening around him, the rumour about the maze that Duke created could also mention that when in the maze, people say they can still hear the star-cross lovers' moans of ecstasy when exploring. Gameplay-wise it can be pretty linear, just cut between each pairing meeting and Leto figuring his way around. At the end after all the excitement (maybe hours later), Leto hears footprints of someone walking towards him, hoping it's Rose... but it's Ulrod who says he's not his true love but everyone is wondering where he was and tells him to follow him out. Leto then leaves with Ulrod to find all the girls looking hot and bothered and asks them who they first saw in the maze, which results in them all lying about the experience. You can use this idea if you want, change it, ignore it, whatever. Just throwing some ideas out there. Looking forward to whatever it is that you decide with the maze!

I could try and see if I can reduce the MC's field of vision so he only gets glimpses of what happens as he walks around the map. But if I can, I'd like to use it for a full scene. I just need to find a good idea^^

Dunno what the exact details would be but all the couples could go into the maze for a reason, since I haven't played the new update yet I'm not sure if Leto can go in on his own or he is acompanied by a maid to keep an eye on him. While in the maze the couples will get bored and start fooling around / fucking ect. while Leto is trying to figure his way through. He is hearing the sounds but has no idea who is making them and that it's happening just a few meters a way from him, seperated by the bushes. Could be fun!
