yay I can watch this reaction again. Also I recently learned that the compartments that they built into the ship for the purpose of taking water and stay afloat if the boat struck something didn't have tops to them. If they had put tops on them to prevent the water from spilling over into other compartments the boat could've survived.

I remember nothing made me cry until I saw the baby in the water and I burst into tears :( And I realize there wasn't much room on the door and Rose not break her promise by dropping Jack into the ocean like heart >:( But now this movie will just be "...ah" in my memory because of your bit LMAO and y'all going off at the end!

2023-02-16 03:52:54 +0000 UTCi actually do have an answer about using gloves during archival work! i have some friends who were trained in library and museum sciences. bare hands are better than gloved hands because you need the sensitivity in your fingertips to avoid causing further damage. like, if you were handling an ancient book and the pages were stuck together, your bare fingers would be a lot more dextrous at being able to separate them. cotton gloves are the worst for that, nitrile gloves are better. the oils on your hands are damaging, but a full, 20sec scrub with some soap basically takes care of that. any handling whatsoever will cause wear, but so does exposure to oxygen, uv light, or water. i dunno about how roughly bill paxton was grabbing the sketchbook, but bare hands are the standard in most institutions. my intuition is telling me that benji may have learned about the glove distinction when kim k wore marilyn monroe's dress to the met gala. do you watch abby cox too?
