Status Update
Added 2024-06-26 19:56:19 +0000 UTCHey everyone,
I know it's been a while since my last update In January. What happened?
Long story short, I was really sick for almost 5 months. After recovering, life got super busy with work, family and other personal things. In my now not-so-new-anymore job, I usually work 10+ hours a day, and my family and parents have needed extra attention. Honestly, I haven't even had time to enjoy any Japanese content myself.
I feel bad for not updating you all sooner, but there was so much going on that I had to prioritize what I could handle and dropped everything else. At one point, I even considered shutting down the project because not posting updates for so long makes me feel like I'm letting down those who support me on patreon, especially since I couldn't respond to all the questions and requests.
But I don't want to quit. I'm currently on my first vacation of 2024, and it feels great to dive back into JLab and enjoy some Japanese content again. I realize how much I've missed it. I'll be using some of this time to create new content and figure out a sustainable way to keep the project going.
I will now catch up with the messages on patreon, thanks for your understanding, your patience and support!
Last but not least a remark on the job: I changed in May 2023 from a large to a small company that develops several challenging high-tech products. Even though I work long hours, this has been the best decision in my professional career. The last time I learned so many new and interesting things was during my PhD. I love this job, and I love working long hours for this company, so the busy schedule I mentioned above is by no means a criticism.

In my learning experience, the fastest growth I've experienced was going through the beginner deck in 2 months. Awesome experience and will continue backing you up on Patreon, since it was worth much more than one or two classes with a teacher

2024-06-28 00:12:38 +0000 UTCIt's strange to have just discovered your work this week. It seems to lack the exposure of the other Anki decks out there and yet it follows so many principles of SLA and it's excellently designed. Regardless if you never make anything again(which would be a shame), you have already contributed a substantial achievement to the Japanese learning community.

2024-06-27 12:54:03 +0000 UTCThe great thing about content is that it's passive and people can continue to enjoy the benefits of your excellent work. I'm currently working on the intermediate decks and they are helping me so much and saving me so much time. You are still very much helping people with the gems you've shared with the world up to this point. Please take care of your health! Much love and best of luck with your new responsibilities!
