Expanding to podcasts (outside of YouTube)
Added 2025-04-12 19:37:58 +0000 UTCSince around the beginning of March I spent lots of time on developing new features for the tools I use for deck creation. One of those features is to support arbitrary podcasts in addition to YouTube videos.
I added only one podcast to the mining list so far, but it is very popular: "Let's talk in Japanese" by Tomo, a teacher from Japan. I like this podcast very much, Tomo's voice, style of talking and his topics are great. Difficulty-wise this is between nihongo con teppei for beginners and nihongo con teppei for intermediate learners, but it depends a bit on the episode. The following are the first episodes I added:
Shika explained (nice refresher)
One drawback of using podcasts (that are not uploaded to YouTube) is that those episodes cannot be added to the jlab YouTube-playlist. They will be linked in the anki decks though and I'll provide the full playlist as text file in the future.
Another super exciting feature I currently continue to work on is to offload boring, repetitive tasks to AI. This has great potential, more on this after I made some more progress...

Sounds great!
