On the other side, at last!
Added 2025-12-01 12:38:32 +0000 UTCWhew! What a week. First there was Nerdmas with its crazy schedule--6 AM set up, 10 AM - 6 pm hours, then tear down--then the holidays! I say holidays, plural, because my husband's birthday was also this weekend. Given his medical history and the fact he's still here, we tend to make it a big to-do!
Nerdmas in a nutshell: Exhausting, but amazing. I beat last year's total by a substantial margin and had the joy of trading with my fellow vendors as we admired each other's wares. New vendor friends were made; old vendor friends were supported; and much merriment was had by all. The schedule is an unapologetic beast, though, and I'm grateful to the con family member who hosted me Friday and Saturday nights to make it possible. I'll be assisting her with putting in a vegetable garden this spring as a thank you (plus I love her and am happy to help).
After Nerdmas, monies were donated to The Cat House (our feline trio's portrait sold again) and framed prints were donated to a drag show held to support A Novel Idea Bookstore's Little Free Pantry.
Thanksgiving was lovely and a full-on hermit affair. Both our families are 500+ miles away in opposite directions, so we just hunker down and cook for ourselves. Nicholas' birthday was likewise a weekend full of special homemade meals, small but meaningful gifts, and time together. We also put up Christmas--wish our tree luck with the cats! (Don't worry, all the glass ornaments are hung on tension rods in the doorways, high and safe.)
And now it's the first day of December?!
Today I hope to finalize my calendars for sending off after yet another round of proofing. You can tell I've been pulled in every direction at all times this year, as I've never had this many of my own goofs to catch! Once the calendar is on its digital way, it is studio time at long, long last. My hands have had a luxurious two weeks of being asked to do nothing aside from usual household chores, plus their usual bevy of pain patches and compression gloves. It's time to be truly me again.
