Ah loved this reaction! I’ve been holding out till you’ve finished it to mention this, but in the book, it’s Lady Danbury who puts the reward out for revealing lady whistledown. It makes more sense in the show for the queen to do it. However, they did take out several moments between Penelope and Lady Danbury in which Bad B**** in Red quite clearly admired Penelope’s clear wit and dry humour. It’s the one thing I would’ve loved to have seen more of as I love the two characters and the actresses. I’m very intrigued to see how they deal with Francesca being gay, I’m thrilled to see it, it’s obviously not what happens in the books. As it was somewhat easier for unmarried men to explore their sexuality in this time period (and universe) I do wonder how they’ll tackle her understanding that. Again, loved your reaction and excited to hear what you think of it as a whole. Appreciate the time and energy you both put into this ❤️ sad that it’ll be a while till we see the next season and hopefully your reactions to it!

I think It's a setting thing the series is an ensemble series and takes places in the ton primarily but Benedict, Eloise and Fransceca's book stories are set majorly in the country so I think it's a logistics kinda thing.

So happy Benji pointed out that despite Colin’s anger he was still supportive of Penelope. The reason he doesn’t stand next to her at the ball while she’s speaking is because she asked him not to save her, so he’s supporting her from the sidelines like she requested. It’s different in the book, but I’m glad they gave Penelope her autonomy over the LW announcement in the show. And I’m convinced the only reason he took a few minutes to find her afterwards is because the writers wanted the scenes with her mom and Lady Danbury, and you can’t have those scenes if Colin is the first one to greet her. He needs to be the last one so he can declare his love and then they can dance. Loved your reaction! Can’t wait to see the video tomorrow with your thoughts on the season!

Anything with Lady D is perfection, and I cried too. I felt good abt how they tied things off. I read a post somewhere abt how this ends like a series so it frees them up to mess w the formula more, like a soft reboot. As a neurodivergent queer person, I totally read F's kiss as hating kissing in public and her fritz wrt Michaela as her brain downloading the "oh im queer now" software lol. Also, bc I'm petty, I have never wanted anyone to be straight more than Eloise rn bc people keep calling her queer - but largely based on stereotypes lmao. You can like dudes and not wanna get married lol. Idk.
