Coming soon! This update is on the small side and will have a truncated exclusivity period for patrons because of the timing going into the Steam release. The Steam release will be at midnight ET on September 19. The Steam Edition will be based on this version of the game.
I added a new fetish type: scent kink. Also added is a new perk associated with this fetish type, and a new trait that allows you to see the stats of sexual partners by sniffing them. New moves related to the perk have also been added to several sexual encounter types.
A special new romance option was added! This romance option is available to everyone whether you're in a romance already or not, but will have some differing ramifications and context depending on which romance you're already in. It also adds a new romantic activity and unlocks some existing romance content for your character. You can only start this romance in the post-game.
New interactions and events with Rachel have been added to the post-game if she survives chapter 5.
Other new things include a new outfit, a new potion, and other new character advancement options!
Steam support: added support for the Steam SDK, including Steam achievements. The Steam version of SS will only be available on Windows 10 or higher, and only on 64-bit systems, and must be purchased or redeemed through Steam for achievements and other Steam features to be accessible, adding one of the Itch versions as a Steam game will not grant you access to these features.
Tons of bug fixes and balance adjustments.
I wanted to put more in this update. Specifically, I still have plans for a few "non-canon" post-game requests that I want to add, but implementing the Steam SDK and testing things took up more dev time than I expected, and at this point, I'll end up running out of time before the Steam release if I wait too long. So expect further updates in the future.
I'm also working on a native Android port of the game, but it's slow going, and honestly it just isn't a huge priority for me, since the game is already very playable on Android. But still, that'll come out eventually. The game already loads and runs on Android, but there are a lot of bugs and crashes right now that I need to figure out.
In the more distant future, I have a fun idea for something more "expansion pack" sized, but it's still in the planning stages. All this is to say, while Hex is and will remain my focus going forward, I still have a lot of stuff I want to do with SS over the next year or so!
Also, Hex v0.1.7 is also almost ready. I don't feel like it's smart to release too much stuff at once, but patrons have been waiting so long... Expect the Patreon-exclusive Hex update to come out next week sometime, I think.
