1 Week to Book 1 launch! (and other updates)

Everybody here has already done a ton to support the work and we would never have made it to this point without you. You have our deepest gratitude for being here.

For launch day, rank is a huge driver of visibility, so every sale and download goes a long way toward helping Mage Tank become a self-sustaining project. SRK and I would love to be able to dedicate ourselves to the books full time. We kind of already are, but it would be nice to work 1 job instead of 2 :)

If you have Kindle Unlimited, a download counts as a sale, even if you don’t read the thing. It’s kind of strange but you do you, Kindle. For everyone here who has KU, please consider giving the book a download on launch day! Pretty sure you can set it up so the book automatically gets added to your library on release.

There is a preorder page, and those are more than welcome, but I’d like to drive as much traffic as possible to the page on launch day, since Amazon rankings are weird. From what I’ve seen, preorders count on the day of the preorder, not launch day, but it’s also kind of opaque and there isn’t a clean answer to that question that I can find.

For those of you who’ve already preordered, thank you! The book has been chilling at sub-100k for awhile, and that really helps out. Amazon is more likely to recommend stuff with sales, so preorders are still very helpful!

Gonna end up writing ‘help’ and ‘helpful’ in this post until the word has lost its meaning.

I am going to try and avoid spamming you, so I will post again the day before and the day of launch. Might do a follow up to talk about how everything went, but we'll see.

IN OTHER NEWS...

We’ve been hard at work on the TTRPG. We’ll have the early beta version out tomorrow, unless we somehow suddenly realize that everything is broken and terrible. Probably not gonna happen, but life is an old boot full of shit sometimes. The beta will be available to Kernel and Cob tiers, but it will eventually get placed into the $10 tier once it's in a more complete state.

This beta will include enough evolutions and abilities to allow for uninterrupted play through Delver Level 10 or so. We’re up through level 40 evos for all attributes and core combat skills, with level 40 evos for several supporting and social skills, but many more currently go up to 20. We're planning to continually update until the core game is complete with evos up through 100. Then we'll probably keep updating with even more stuff. Just continual updates, all round.

The materials will also include a small(ish) selection of monsters and enemies, along with a short adventure designed to be run in 1-3 sessions, depending on your group’s playstyle. We have other adventures/Delves created, they’re just not in the most presentable state. Those should be coming out along with future updates.

Additionally, there are fairly comprehensive rules for how to design and implement your own enemies, along with a crafting system for making custom mana-woven items. The system is designed to be very open-ended, with fully customizable characters and items, along with enough guidance to let you homebrew the shit out of some stuff if that’s the kind of thing you enjoy.

I’ll probably add some dedicated channels for the TTRPG matters to our Discord (which, btw, did you know we have a Discord? Haven't mentioned it here in a while. It auto-links if you have your Discord account linked to Patreon). Honestly, we have no idea how many people will be interested, but we’re giving the game the same level of care and attention that we show the book, especially since it directly supports the System elements of Mage Tank. They’re symbiotic, so working on one directly augments the other.
