Updates July 9 25 - Addendums, Art, Posting Cadence

Addendums

Addendum votes are in. You folks picked Ealdric "Papa Junior" Ravvenblaq Jr.

Gotta love a guy with the word Junior in his name twice. RR picked Godking Ayamari, btw. This will give us a look at two very different types of high-tier Delver society. Ayamari is widely regarded as the most powerful, while Papa Junior is widely regarded as one of, if not the, best smith.

Addendums will come out as they are written. Sir Raiu Koren takes lead on some of the addendums, and Ayamari is one of his creations, meaning we get to split up writing the prose. Always nice when that happens. While he works on that we will be returning to Arlo's adventures and I'll start plotting out what all is going on with Junior. There's plenty of stuff simmering in the background and a lot of things he might be involved in. Just gotta narrow it down.

Art

I have in hand a nearly completed version of RR's second comm, which was FF in the Closet with Arlo holding Grotto like a Bond villain with everyone dapperly dressed. There are two minor adjustments the artist is making and it'll be ready to go. I also have in hand some lovely sketches for the first Patreon comm, which is everyone falling toward The Pit at the end of book 2. It's looking pretty epic. That artist is working fairly quickly, so I don't expect it to take a huge amount of time.

Next, we will start the ball rolling on the second Patreon comm, which is everyone in the Ruler throne room after finishing their individual Dungeon tests from B4. I kind of want to do something special for this one and I hope you folks appreciate the idea. I'd like to divide it up into multiple pieces that can all be combined into one larger piece. I think we will get something much higher quality this way, and we will have five individual works to enjoy on top of a final composition with all of them together. Overall it'll take longer, but there will be many 'finished' pieces before the whole thing is done, if that makes sense.

I think we can finally do a poll for Patreon round 3 next week. Everything has had some time to bake and life has stabilized a lot on my end. Of course, I am likely heading into more chaos, which I will discuss in the next section!

Posting Cadence

My wife and I are expecting, with our due date at the end of the month (although I think he'll be coming sooner but who knows). The most recent chapter, Prologue Part 4, will be the last chapter scheduled for Royal Road until August 18. That'll give me about a one month break from worrying about what's going on over there.

Now, I am getting a goodly amount of time off from my day job for parental leave. This means I will primarily have two things to occupy my time, which will be baby and Mage Tank. I plan to continue writing, since I wouldn't know what to do with myself otherwise, meaning that Patreon will continue getting chapters. The caveat is that I'm not sure if it'll be at the same output, since I don't know how messy my schedule will be. I expect that at the very least, the week the baby comes along there will be an interruption, ha.

If trying to work on MT is too demanding I'll keep you all in the loop. Not going to burn myself out, which is why I'm pausing RR. Handyman is much easier to write, so maybe I'll pivot to that for a bit if I need something that requires fewer brain cells since it has way fewer characters. I dunno, we'll see.
