Art Commission #1 (Patreon) + Updates

Howdy folks,

If you're wondering where I've been, well, my son was born on July 26th! The last week and change has been a blur. Some family came in from out of town to help us get going and I think we've gotten a rhythm down that should work for us. I'm on late-night baby duty, which is prime writing time, and little bro has gotten to where he doesn't mind sleeping for more than fifteen minutes before he needs something. That means I can probably (maybe) get back to knocking out some chapters. If you're curious, he came out 100% healthy and everyone is doing well.

Unfortunately, not all is happy news out here, as my second dog passed away, joining his sister who passed in October of last year. He was 14, so while it is always sad to lose a pet, he had a good long life and his illness was swift. He passed as comfortably as possible.

Sorry for the emotional whiplash there. I care deeply for my pets and couldn't make this a proper update without including him. As you can imagine, I had a very strange confluence of emotions last week.

Moving on, we'll have what's called a good news sandwich, where the bad news is sandwiched between two happier tidbits. So, here's some other good news:

We have the first Patreon commission! It only took, uh, 4(ish) months? Paraphrasing, but the choice was "Everyone in FF diving towards the Pit boss at the end of book 2." I think it's fantastic, and I hope that you do as well.

Now, some of the most observant of you with keen memories may notice something slightly off here. Arlo has wings in the image. However, Arlo did not receive his wings until the beginning of book 3. Yeah, I sort of forgot about that until the comm was all done and delivered. After realizing the minor continuity error, I looked at the image and thought "well, it's fucking awesome, so who cares?"

As a reminder, RR is currently paused until August 18 with the exception of the occasional update and such. Patreon is still getting some of the goods, despite my new patriarchal status. We've made solid progress on the addendums and the next bit of Arlo, so expect some chapters to start dropping again soon.
