Hey guys! Here is the YT edit for "The Monster Squad" which will premiere shortly!

[YT Edit] The Monster Squad (1987)

Comments

Any favorite movies from the drive in?

Chris Thom

I am not that keen on nostalgia for the 70s or 80s. I didn't hate them but they weren't that great either. One thing I do miss is drive in movies. We would go with my mother when we were quite young. She had a VW Squareback and laid the seat down and we had blankets and pillows. She knew we would eat popcorn and fall asleep somewhere in the first feature. Then she could watch a movie without distraction. It was loads of fun for us and pretty easy on her all things considered.

James Melton

Yeah, I like quite a few of these movies myself. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem like the YouTube audience agrees.

Richard Maurer

This is a follow up to Richard's post on YT views and the Curse of Cassie’s PPOTM. Below are some movies w/YT views 50k or less. Some I like. A few PPOTM. The Monster Squad – 29k (1 day). PPOTM Lost in Translation – 41k (8 days). I love this movie. Stepmom – 38k (13 days). PPOTM To Catch a Thief (1955) – 45k (1 month). PPOTM Bridge of Spies – 36k (1 month). One of Spielberg’s bests. Bringing up Baby – 36k (2 months). PPOTM Born on Fourth of July – 41k (3 months). I recommended this movie. Shakespeare in Love (1998) – 39k (3 months). PPOTM? Charlie Wilson’s War (2007) – 50k. I like this movie and pushed for it. A Monster Calls (2016) – 32k. PAF winner Cold Mountain (2003) – 42k (6 months). I like this movie. The French Connection (1971) – 45k (6 months) Now and Then (1995) – 36k (6 months). PPOTM The Holdovers (2023) – 43k (9 months). A good Alexander Payne movie. The Shop Around the Corner (1940) – 40k (9 months) Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005) – 47k (9 months). A forgotten movie? It Happened One Night (1934) – 50k (1 year) Selma (2014) – 38k (2 years). Awesome movie. One of her best reactions. Just Mercy (2019) – 24k (2 years)

The Swedish "Let The Right One In" (RT 98%, RT Aud 90%) is critically acclaimed. "65" (2023) (IMDb 5.4, RT 33%, RT Aud 64%) is not. An Adam Driver movie I like is "Paterson" (2016) [Jim Jarmusch] [RT 96%] (R) (drama w/some comedy) (thoughtful) (1h 58m). Stream for free on Prime if you are subscribed.

I watched "65" (2023) with Adam Driver tonight. It was ok. Not too bad. Could've been better. Wasn't. But ok is good. Actually, I tried to watch "Let The Right One In" first (the original Swedish version), but I could only find it on Moviebox and there were no subtitles, so I binned it. I then tried the American version (2022), only to find it's a tv series, and I didn't want that. I then tried The Rocky Horror Picture Show and, after 20 minutes, my brain literally tried to escape by way of my eyeballs. Woof, that's a weird-ass movie! Finally settled on "65", which at least had dinosaurs in it. Better luck next time!

Clarence Newman

Very 80s, though. Not sure millennials would get it.

Clarence Newman

For some reason I thought this would do better on YouTube - only has 28k views and it’s coming up on 2 days since its release. The Curse of Cassie’s PPOTM continues!

Richard Maurer

Get the kids and popcorn and watch the classic... THE GHOST AND MR CHICKEN! You guys will have fun!

Chitown Livingston

Yeah, a break for her. In the comments on the full reaction, I said the movie "effective in giving you a not too scary movie -- which you need a couple of those to give you a break from the October movies that give you nightmares that stick." Was the movie like you remembered it. Was this your first watch? I know it is edited.

Clay F

Decent movie - for children. As an adult I needed CassIe’s help to get through the YT edit. I doubt I could made it through the full reaction. But Cassie seemed fine with it, and considering how many real horror movies she’s doing this year she deserves a break.

Richard Maurer

Still trying to figure out if it's Cassie on the Scream 2 one.

Chris Thom

Really charming movies.

Chris Thom

Since Cassie liked "Monster Squad" I wonder if she'd enjoy "Elvira: Mistress of the Dark" (1988)? I love the Elvira character, and it's one of my favourite campy horror classics.

Rod Reavern

Reminds me of Salem’s Lot….😬

Anthony Carlson

Vampire Cassie is frightening

🏁 🎥 🎸 💔

I love thumbnails or pictures like this, with the blue background. Creates a 3D Effect. Might be your coolest one. ;-)

Larry Darrell

Those root canals have really brought your teeth out, Cassie.

Mark Vaderr

This is like Goonies meets The Lost Boys, except not as good as either.

Bill W

Incredible thumbnail photo. lol

Chris Thom

Cassie.......your picture......those root canals don't look so good!

"Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps)" She had an horror of rooms, she was tired, you can't hide beat When I looked in her eyes, they were blue but nobody home Well, she could've been a killer if she didn't walk the way she do And she do She opened strange doors that we'd never close again She began to wail jealousy's scream Waiting at the lights, know what I mean Scary monsters, super creeps Keep me running, running scared Scary monsters, super creeps Keep me running, running scared She asked me to stay and I stole her room She asked for my love and I gave her a dangerous mind Now she's stupid in the street and she can't socialise Well, I love the little girl and I'll love her till the day she dies She wails Jimmy's guitar sound, jealousy's scream Waiting at the lights, know what I mean Scary monsters, super creeps Keep me running, running scared Scary monsters and super creeps Keep me running, running scared Scary monsters and super creeps Keep me running, running scared Scary monsters and super creeps Keep me running, running scared Scary monsters and super creeps Keep me running, running scared Scary monsters and super creeps Keep me running, running scared Note: Such a good Halloween song. The live version is even better as well. Scary Monsters Live - https://youtu.be/N_6I3o-j2-I?list=RDN_6I3o-j2-I

This was not as good as I had hoped for rewatching. This was definitely a nostalgia movie that I remember with major rose colored glasses. The monsters and effects were amazing. Stan Winston is a legend. Of course "Wolfmans got nards!" will always be classic. Thanks for watching!

Ian A

Its so funny that the guy who played the guy who turns into the werewolf is also Uncle Rico in "Napoleon Dynamite"....

Jens Kristensen

Swamp guy was The Creature From the Black Lagoon, a 1950’s classic monster.

Stephen Malloy

Well that was a good time!!
