Global Illumination Example
Added 2023-10-20 02:00:16 +0000 UTCHi!
Here's a short example of the GI lighting option and how it works areas like indoors.
The video clip is a bit low quality and there's minor banding but it looks pretty flawless in-game.

Looking great! Only one thing (but maybe its just me) when the torch is turned off the "spotlight" the area where the light's focused on turns dark but in the walls to the side there is a delay. I don't know if it's intentional or not.

2023-10-22 00:46:30 +0000 UTCwith these new graphics i cannot wait to be moving through a buildng without nvgs and get jumscared by some random guy hiding in a corner with a 12 gauge

2023-10-20 13:42:40 +0000 UTCThese GI light bounce values are really easy to modify and I think this video also seems a bit too dark compared how it actually looks in-game because some video compression etc. I also set those bounce values unrealistic this time since I wanted to clearly highlight how GI behaves differently compared to regular lighting and normal directional + ambient lighting. You can test this effect in the next test build and give feedback based on those actual values + without compression. But it's an highly experimental feature for sure :)

2023-10-20 09:50:31 +0000 UTCGlobal Illumination does not seem to do the trick for me, effectively. It darkens indoor areas too much while outdoor light coming in should brighten it much more. Perhaps its possible to balance it our further ?

2023-10-20 08:44:02 +0000 UTCSorry, but the levels are bad. The "DAWN" example is so dark indoors, as my room is right now. It's 8:40 in the morning, cloudy, I have blinds AND foil blankets. It is almost as ridiculous as GI in EfT, where you have to use flashlight indoors in the middle of a bright sunny day.

2023-10-20 05:33:34 +0000 UTCNice! I expected much worse light leaking using SDFGI with such thin walls, but it works rather well. The night time atmosphere is much nicer now too. Looking forward to checking out the next build.
